    Help with stopping draught please!

Hi...need some help/advice please regarding stopping cold draught through the french door/kitchen door, which are partly covered by glass. Are there any strips/sealants that might do the job?

All help is greatly appreciated. The living room and kitchen are like freeze boxes!

    Thanks in advance.

if you make it colder on the inside than on the outside the draught will go the other way.

It may not look great but if you can hang curtains over the doors that will help a great deal. We have them over our french doors and it works a treat!:santa:

Might try the curtains trick and not invite anyone over until Winter is over.

Thanks for the link. Will check that out in Wickes. Cheers.

I've only got my phone to access web at the moment otherwise I'd send you more direct links from my favs.

But I'd recommend going to MSE forums and checking out some of the tips for draughts.

The only one I've had time to look for today is this one, loads of pages the below is copied from last page (too long to search on phone thoroughly) But I do recall reading about sealants around windows and door frames. Unfortunately can't remember more or from what thread, but it's a good start for you.

I have at long last managed to put up my fleece curtains on the 2 sitting room windows - cost me just over £7 for the fleeces from IKEA and had to sew them together but what a difference! Although the windows are double glazed we still get a lot of cold from the glass and the fleece cuts that all out (put my hand behind them and its freezing!) I got white ones as my curtains are cream and as I pull them back behind the curtains during the day you cant really notice them. As soon as it starts getting dark I pull the fleece ones over and then the lined curtains and its really toasty.

    Well pleased!
