Help with weeds on my monoblock please.

Hi guys , anyone got any advice for me, regarding keeping weeds away from my monoblocked driveway ? I intend to cut away all the weeds from my drive - but how do I keep them away ? Do I buy sand and brush it into the spaces that have appeared after years of my cars weight on it, or have you guys any better/other ideas more suited. Obviously I can't afford to get it relaid , I'm looking for a cheap fix - and don't mind putting in the hard work myself.

Don't just cut the weeds as the roots will still be there and will push through the sand, spray a strong weedkiller over and make sure they are all dead first - may take several applications and a few weeks - then you can carefully brush in sand.

Hello Homer,
was reading the advice on this site which hopefully will help
http://www.pavingexpert.com/maintain_02.htm
Also saw a good paving brush on QVC which looks good for cleaning out the gaps in your paving

Don't know if it is any good but it looks good in the demos.
Cheers, Gaz

Thanks for your advice.

Don't use sand - the weeds will just push through.

weedkiller
leave for one week
pressure wash
pull up remaining weeds
fill joints with kiln dried patio sand from wickes
water in and top up
after at least 2 rain free days, apply polyurethane resin (not the rubbish acrylic solvent which only lasts a year or so e.g thompsons)

can pick up 20litres for £50-60 on ebay and can last 10 years
