help with WiFi bands regarding tablets.

    Hey all

I'm struggling. To understand and find out which tablets are dual band as im looking for one with a 5ghz band option like my s4 has.

Which letters do I need to see in the. Specs? A/ac/n/b/g?

I've Noticed most standard are B/g/n.

    Thanks For your help

ac and n do but obviously in addition to the device supporting it so must your wireless access point (router) n is more common.

b and g are 2.4Ghz only. a is 5Ghz only, n and ac can be either or both.

Wireless 802.11ac is the most up to date.
5Ghz signal does not always travel as well as 2.4ghz though.
Wireless 802.11n is fine for most everyday uses.

    Thanks guys.
So looking at tablets and some can't do 5ghz even with bgn but it seems all do it with abgn.

Is the latter a safe bet to get that signal?

most routers don't support ac yet. go for dual-band n (2.4 & 5GHz) in this generation. ac will probably pick up next 2 years or so.

    yeah thats the plan atm.
i have a virgin superhub 2 but its the tablet end i want to take advantage of the signal.

what i dont get is for example a nexus 2013 states its 2.4 and 5ghz but another tablet with the same banding a/b/g/n doesn't state if it does or not
