Hi everyone
I was looking for a new laptop and came up with two, the first one is VGN-FZ21M and an other one is Dell XPS M1530. Basically they all have processor T7250, 2gb of ram, bluetooth, camera... however the vaio has got BLUE-RAY and of course sony is always more reliable. On the other hand XPS system has got 256mb of 8600GT (compare to 256mb of 8400) and 3 years warranty. In addition the vaio is about 25 quids cheaper. Can anyone leave some advice whether I should choose the vaio or xps?
And by the way any good laptop for the price of 650?
Thanks a lot.

I guess if its between those two then the biggest factor is if you are more of a game fan (get the Dell) or a movie fan (get the Sony). Not entirely sure what you are basing "of course sony is always more reliable" on but I do personally prefer the build and style of Vaio laptops over del. Bluetooth and camera aren't really worth much but 7250 is decent CPU and 2GB ram is good for Vista. 3 year warranty is definately a decent bonus (although you can probably insure the laptop inc accidental damage for around £100 for 3 years).

Now I'm coming up with an other one vostro 1500 T7500 2.2Ghz, 2gb ram, 256mb 8600GT, WSXGA 1440x... bluetooth, webcam stuffs, 1 year warranty and 75 quids cheaper than M1530.... What do you guys think?

Ive just got off the phone from dell...asking for a refund...even tho they told me 7 days cooling period for refunds... I had to tell them I was going to ring HQ before they would refund me.

XPS M1530
250GB HD
1 year warranty

sounds like a nice spec but the randomness of this laptop was crazy. The touchpad would lag even after setting touchpad....whilst using word music playing in windows media centre would break up intermittently as well as cached music online randomly......Battery life just viewing site reading articles emailing i would get 1.15ish hrs (6 cell) apparently thats normal lol going by the chap I had words with.

When buying this I thought I was getting a real deal but the past 20 days have been a complete nightmare whats worse is that all my fellow IT collegues were saying "I told you so" they hate dell lol.......I should have listen to collegues at work before heading into this disaster which just about turned out ok.

also as a customer if you ring them expect to be waiting for 20mins+
