Watched that on tv this morning.

    To sum it up...

Black ink that the artist won't put on their skin = bad , brown ink normally = good

As one of the comments says, the before and after pictures are NOT the same tattoo...........hmmmm

Anywho real traditional henna is brownish not this black fake carp that has been touted as real henna.

Saw this on TV last week. Too be honest, and not wishing to offend anyone, I hate tattoos, especially on children. Seems like everyone is branding themselves these days.

My son went to his school fair last week and came back with a stick on tattoo, he had never asked for one before so I never thought to tell him not to ever get one if they were available, the school allowed the kids to buy them without any need for permission or checking that they were okay on an particular child's skin. My son thought it would just wash off that night in the bath, however the tattoo was there for about 4 days (after bathing every day), it was irritating him so I had to use a scrubbing brush and copious amounts of soap to get it off leaving a sore mark on his arm - needless to say he doesn't ever want one again.

I agree that kids shouldn't have tattoos, I don't like them and children's skin is far more sensitive to chemicals than adult skin.

henna tattoos are not harmful at all. Its a special, natural die you can buy that is used to make henna designs. They seemed to have used something else in this case.

The story did say he went back for another one on the last day of his holiday

That tattoo was more than likely done with PPD based black henna. Its basically black hair dye thats being used to colour the skin.

As already posted above, natural henna should be brown in colour and is safe to use. If you see tattoo shops on holidays showing "black henna" then these are the ones to be avoided.

    Looks canny.

It'd be great next time if someone gives a warning before posting the horric pictures.
