Man up!
Every woman needs a Dyson
old debate but i had a top of range dyson ,was rubbish now have henry and love it much superior to dyson ,give mr dyson his due he was clever for being the first to let people SEE what his cleaned up as all the rest were using bags you couldnt see through
go for the henry or the henritta hoover, cheap & simple,I dont get the dyson hype !
Yes, we had a Dyson, and its really good, but it broke. The brushes in the motor.

We got a Henry hoover cos they were under a hundred quid and at first, the wife moaned that it was crap at picking up, and she was gonna return it, that is until she discovered the boost button, lol. No joke, the suction was that good, it lifted the carpet.

Totally recommend the Henry, only downside is the bags (cost of). With a Dyson, you dont need to replace em.
Your wife has more sense than you - Our Henry lasted 5 months before admitting defeat that it was c**p and didn't pick up anything. The upside is that they're cheap and you never have to empty the cannister.
Now have a dyson and have the inconvenience of emptying canister every time 'cos it actually pick up.
put it this way how many cleaning companies supply staff with dysons????????? and it has nothing to do with price

They've got my vote.
not the dyson...crap -had it repaired so many times in first few weeks...sold it cheap to get rid
I recommend SEBO, we had a Henry then series of Dysons and the SEBO is by far the best.
It was described to me as the Mercedes of vacuums as they are made in Germany, high quality and go on for ages (brothers girlfriend has her granny's 30+ year old one which is still good).
Lifetime warranty on some parts as well.

And how many of those cleaning staff use a henry at home??
They are reliable and if you don't have any pile on your carpet they'll do okay but if you have a pile, and animals then the Henrys just not up to the job.
Obviously a matter of opinion but I had just vacuumed with my Henry when my Dyson arrived. Re-vacuumed with the Dyson and got a mountainful of cat hair. I keep meaning to see my Henry on fleabay and seeing as so many like them I might actually sell it.
sickly sweet

Dyson fanboy here

There's a reason why all cleaning companies use Henrys and it's nothing to do with ability to pick up dirt.

Urrrrm, OP asked for help or suggestions, i gave my opinion on the two vacuums mentioned and gave a helpful suggestion of one which i have found better than the ones they are looking into. Not exactly unhelpful or off topic.
How is the view from on top of that horse?

lol we do!!!! We bought a few in sale but tbh all of our customers have their own vacuum cleaner, so ours only get used on industrial cleans, post build etc. We also have 3 Henry's but I find them really heavy.

Got a big pair, thanks.
Tenants in old house are using a 18year old one.
I've had one for a decade, parents one for a few years now.

Dyson have notorious build quality problems, how did they react to this?
Do they improve their products?
No...
They took out a warranty programme for 5 years, which I expect doubles or trebles the cost.

Would a dyson last two decades.... lol!

That says it all imo

Or have Hetty . I've got a Henry and so as my Mum,they are good but I do find them a bit heavy.
Henry maker is called "Numatic"
I would bet everyone on this thread that their workplace uses a Henry or a Numatic product.
Also I've seen Tesco use the big brother version of the Henry.

I wouldn't touch a Dyson with a barge pole

My workplace also uses toilet paper not too far a grade from tracing paper...
Get her a dyson, I love my dyson rollerball one, I was like a excited child when I first got it re-hoovering everywhere.

Infact stopped being a cheapskate and get her one of these lakeland.co.uk/iro…230 think of all the extra energy she will have from not having to do the hoovering!
Some of the people on this thread are either all for dyson having never tried a henry. Or all for Henry never having tried a dyson. I've got both and whilst I can't argue with the suction on the Henry this does not translate to picking stuff up. Can't begin to let you know how much I hate the Henry - my grandmas carpet sweeper did a better job.
\have you a friend who has a dyson or henry - if do borrow one and try before you buy.

Dyson comes with a 5 year warranty, Henry 1 year...
