Hi all! Does any kind person have a UNIDAYS code I could have for an O2 discount?

Found 9th Oct 2016
I just bought a new phone and was told I could get student discount and now they tell me you HAVE to have UNIDAYS not just an NUS card which I don't have because I'm not at an institution, I'm on e-careers which UNIDAYS doesn't recognise! Can you help lovely people??

Hi! Sorry, I'm totally new to this! It's not something I planned on doing it's only because I've been fobbed off by O2... is there anything I can do in exchange for the code?

http://i65.tinypic.com/wkimo9.png is it this one? or for o2 accessories?

Won't work, you need to sign in to a unidays account on the o2 website, then link the accounts. It's not a simple code to input. Basically someone would have to give you there unidays account details. Not going to happen I'm afraid

Hi yes, that is the deal - but unfortunately, I was missold how I could apply my student discount at the time. You have to have a unidays account - which I don't have because I'm not at a university, I'm studying an e-career which isn't accepted on Unidays atm - to get a code and then apply it that way. Like I'm still a student, I have the NUS card to prove it, I just can't get the discount because of the stupid system

Hey, I'm not looking to get hold of anyone's account! That would be awful for that person. Apparently all you have to do is text your UniDays code to O2 and they apply it... like all I need is the code, not the actual account details - the person with the account could do that themselves! People do it all the time with NewLook and Asos you know? I really am not trying to get hold of someone's account! Promise! haha

Yes that's how unidays usually works, but in this case you need to go to o2s website and sign in with your unidays account, this then gives o2 your unidays account details. Its a unique account specific code, and if the details of your unidays account don't match the details of the o2 account it wont work

Oh ... DAMN IT. Seriously annoyed at O2 now. They've totally just fobbed me off for a 2 year contract that I can only just afford without the discount. Thanks for your help. So annoyed though!!

Then why not just go with a cheaper sim only option, if you need o2 coverage then move to giffgaff, o2 are expensive but there are other cheaper options out there.

Yeah I'm going to try and cancel now in the cooling off period and see what I can do and will look into GiffGaff, it's all about the coverage see so need either O2 or its affiliates.

what discount would you get with unidasy

also there is no discount with unidays, it's only for accessories!

Do you know anyone who works for a company that has a business contract with O2? Or someone else on O2. They normally offer a friends and family discount or an employee discount. Ours in work you head to the below website, type in your details etc and you can produce up to 2/3 codes (number keeps changing - and includes your own discount) this gives you 20-30% (again discount keeps changing - is 25% at present) off the airtime part of the contract. You can have to apply this up to 28 days after signing up.
o2.co.uk/open

Edit: scrub that they have now changed to only allowing 1 code. *Grumbles* better take that into consideration myself when my sisters and mothers contracts are up as I've three discount codes applied last year.
