Hi,

Can the Hive or Nest thermostats be used manually to switch on water/central heating ad-hoc without a mobile phone?

For nest heating you just turn it like you would an analogue thermostat.

I mean the water and central heating, not the temperature

Honeywell evohome is well better

It alls temp controlled zones

Programs and it's interface is better also integrates with Honeywell security now

Two boost buttons on top of the hive one for water and one for heating.

That's great, thanks.

Anyone know if you can do the same with NEST?

heating yes, you click and turn. HW, no idea as have a combi and other nest just controls an oil boiler. However I suspect hot water same.

You could walk into Curry's and look or drop nest a note in twitter @nest. But as I said, click and turn to turn one or both off an of and adjust temps.
