Holiday abroad - 3/4/5 nights away - suggestions around £300 pp

Does anybody have any recommendations on somewhere nice to go abroad for a few nights. We don't have a lot of money (the £300 each would have to include flights/hotel/most of spending).

A few ideas:

Barcelona / Vienna / Rome / Porto / Lisbon

starting point is the cheap airlines. best bet is tax free flights

when are you thinking of going and which airport would you prefer?

Rome is nice with plenty of sights to see, Prague is also very nice and cheap for food and drink too.

Perhaps you could get a cheap flight with ryanair or easy jet?

rome is awesome, but well expensive for a nice hotel, check out dealchecker or travelzoo for specials on trips or hotels.
try paris, thats real nice.

Been to Barca twice, Amazing place, Nou Camp is a must.

This... TZ usually do some cracking offers every week. We've booked 2 cheap holidays because of offers on there and friends have booked stuff too. Free to sign up to TZ newsletter everyweek too.

I'll keep an eye on Travelzoo - cheers.

I think Barca would be my pick. Get there early the first day and get 2 nights accomodation (or possibly 3).

The reviews for Hesperia Ramblas look great - it's about 110 euros per night. Flights would hopefully be around £130-£200.

It seems a lot cheaper to book the hotel and flights seperately - is that usually the case?

Prague is sooo beautiful, cheap flight there and hotel/ hostels as cheap as chips! Drove there a few weeks ago and stayed in a hostel costing £9 a night! was a lovely place as well plus the beers cheap!

How useful/value for money are travel agents?

If I say I want to go to 'hotel amazing' for 2 nights sometime between July and September - could they arrange a good deal with flights and the accomodation or am I better booking it all myself?

Who provide good package deals on the internet and the high street?

Thanks

There are often very good deals posted on here - eg £100 for a week in Spain/Greece etc... go and look at the deals section and narrow it by the travel category. You're best off finding a cheap flight and then looking for a cheap hotel around that! Try lowcostholidays... they tend to be good for a large choice of hotels.

I'll keep an eye out - I don't just want a sunbathing holiday though - things to see and do is a must
