    Holiday booking help please.

Am looking to take mother and mother in law on holiday this year. May leave them both there. When i went to price it up it was just shy of £2000. I asked the agent if it would be cheaper to book two sperate holidays, to take advanatge of the childs free spaces. He said this was the cheapest way off doing it. I think he may have been pulling a fast one.

The party is 4 adults. children aged 11, 6 and 1.

I was wondering if i booked it as 2 adults and the older child and the other booking as 2 adults witht the 1 child and the infant would that be cheaper?

Anyone done this before and found the best way to book it. Thanks. Lee

can you price up the various combutations online?

Is the holiday you are looking for available on the website of the major holiday companies?

If so, try pricing it up yourself one way then the other.

Yes i just did, it didnt come up with the same hotel though. It will take a while to match them up. Its the bleeding extras like meals and sitting together that bumps it up. Then insurance and parking. it all adds up. Think I should get about £300 off though.

In my experience, the so called 'free' child places haven't been free at all. In many cases it's been cheaper not to have the 'free' place.
This is because you get charged more in under-occupancy charges for the apartment/room instead and these can add up to more than a child price.
So, when you or your agent are pricing it up, also check the price without the 'free' child price.

Yes i have noticed that in the past. I think it will work out cheaper to book two seperate holidays. Thanks for the advice.

    Thought about hiring a villa?

Thompson online worked out nearly £500 cheaper. That will do. Took about an hour to look but considering the saving I would say thats ok!
