We are wanting to do some days at disney aswell as the other parks like sea world, busch gardens etc. We are going with the family so another 12 people on top of this so may get discount for this? We also want to hire a car. Any help is greatly appreciated as we have a tight budgetand have not booked a holiday abroad befor and I dont really know where to start

Ha ha ha, i wish lol.

Can I suggest you try a website called thedibb.co.uk fabulous forums all Florida related all the advice you could possibly need.

do you have to go in august ?? very expensive, very hot and humid, rains quite a bit and VERY crowded, sorry to put a downer on it but you wont get a lot done as the lines will be long and with small children i wouldnt risk it !
if you can go at another time, you will really love it

Agreed - Avoid August at all costs! May and Sept are best months IMO.
The 2 year old will get in to all the parks free so you'll only be paying for one child so family tix wont help you.
Have you booked anything yet? Sometimes hiring a villa is your best option.

I thought that my self but my sis has been 4 times befor and has said its a good time to go? I was thinking of june during term time but she said it was the rainy season then. I really don want to go when most crowded and most expensive. When do you think is good time to go? Ideally in the school hols as my sis works in a school but she can miss a few days.

Id overlap a week from the may half term hols.

No, not booked anything yet, i will need to convince others to go at a different time but that will be difficult. Again with the villas i think its a good idea but others do not have children except a 17 year old. They wernt so keen on the idea. maybe we should go without them. I will have a ook at may half term thanks, do you think its a bit late to book it for then? Does it rain alot in may/

Ive been twice in May and am going again this May and ive never had rain.
My friend went last year though and it did rain so its luck i guess!

Flights only with BA in May are approx £2800 sat to sat for 2 adults 2 kids and Aug is approx £600 more

OMG I just looked at rainfall and for may it was 6.5 and august was 20 somthing. Also did prices with first choice going 19th august was £3500 ish going may 15th was 1600 ish. Loks much better for May. Thanks guys now have to convince others lol

We went in september last year for the first time and are hoping to go again this september.

The weather was fab, no rain and there were hardly any waiting times at the theme parks.

We flew with thomson from East midlands to stanford, it cost us just under £1600 for 4 adults and we hired a fantastic villa for £550 for 14 nights. It had 2 queen size master suits with ensuites, and 2 kids themed rooms with 2 beds in each and a jack and jill bathroom. The villa had a great pool and jacuzzi and a games room etc.

We got most of our tickets from www.orlando-ticket-deals.co.uk

Can highly recommend universal studio and islands of adventure, boggy creek airboat rides, aquatica, seaworld

We hired our car through money saving experts website, the actual car hire was with dollar and we picked the car up from the airport. We had a big jeep with an extra driver and full tank of fuel for 2 weeks for £300 all in

I went for the first time last year, last week in July and 1st week in August. It rained quite a bit, the humidity was in the 90's, so when it was dry I found it hard to sunbathe (and I'm known for never swimming on a beach holiday!) We spent our time in the parks trying to keep cool, or dry when it rained!! It was very busy too, I've heard the best time is October. I had a great time, but was overcrowded and the weather spoilt it a tad for me!!

That sounds like a brilliant deal, did you go the begining or end of sep? Was a villa form somone you know? Sounds lovely.

We went the last 2 weeks of August as we are stuck with going in the school holidays. It rained a lot! The queues weren't so bad though as the American kids were back at school. The year before we went end of Sept/begin Oct and it was really quite and the weather was lovely.

I second the recommendation of checking out the advice on the Dibb forums.

if your on a budget ba is not a option ,thomas cook and monach both run direct flights to sanford ,and will be a lot cheaper than ba or virgin,if hiring a car make sure all the damage exes are included, ive found booking a fly drive and separate villa a good option ,the villas are far far superior to the average room found in the budget hotels which make up a lot of the rooms in and around orlando

Probably at this late date but not always.
We booked with BA for 2 adults and 2 kids 6 months ago for this May to Florida and we were £1200 including our first 3 nights in a 4* hotel. WAAAAAY cheaper than anyone else at the time.

Just hoping BA will still be around in May :whistling:

most times i've gone inbetween thanksgiving (fourth thursday in november )and christmas say 1st dec to 15th, the weather is fab, NO queues at all and we do our christmas shopping there too ! the parks are magical at that time of year:thumbsup:

I went in August a few years ago.

Spent the last 4 days of the holiday locked inside the villa as a Hurricane went by. I'd say it's best to avoid August.
