    Holiday visa to America?

Did some quick googling - but does it really cost over £100 to apply for student single visit to America? (there is a trip to new york in Easter)

If you are going there just for a holiday and it's for less than 90 days and you hold a UK passport you don't need a Visa at all.

we were told to get one from ESTA i think it is...you do it online and get a number, easy and free.

^--- this. As long as you've no criminal record or HIV. I think (iirc) HIV+ peeps are only allowed 30 days, correct me if I'm wrong or out of date.

    You need an ESTA.

    $10.

do most people not bother with the esta? son told me to do it..

January 12, 2009: All travelers under the Visa Waiver Program must pre-register with ESTA before entering the United States via air or sea. Travelers without an accepted Travel Authorization will not be allowed to board any airplanes or sea carriers that are U.S. bound.

Get ESTA'd - like plumberman01 said. This is not a visa requirement, it is a travel requirement.

What if you're not UK/EU national?

They will then assume you are Muslim and shoot you.

If not then you need to see what the procedure is with you national consulate.

YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR ESTA NOW???

I went only this summer and the summer before and it was free

I watched 4 chinese students fly on a plane (I was on it too) and land in Sanford florida at which point US immigration boarded the plane, escorted them off and sent them straight back on the same damn plane when it refueled and headed back to the UK.

If your not a UK citizen find out if your country has reciprocal visa waiver with the US
