This Yale wireless system is on offer at Screfix at the momemt. I have the BT system similar to this and its does the job well for the price.

You can add more pieces to this Yale system as is your requirements (although keep in mind they sometimes budget the starter system so much, if you need additional pieces its sometimes worth buying 2 or 3 starter systems and assigning them to the first original box)

Looks good, I was considering it at the £149.99 price as well, though as above eventually went with the BT at £99.99......wish I had not been so impulsive now :x

Back to your question mushyg99... I think wireless alarms have improved a lot over the past few years & would say most people would prefer them as they don't have the hassle of wiring it all up... Wireless usually carry a higher price tag but as mention, the screwfix offer is fantastic

I was at B&Q in Wimbledon yesterday and they are selling the Yale wirefree alarm system for about £22. The original price was £99 then they have lowered the price TWICE to come to this amount. Worth to have a look at other B&Qs.

Do you know if it was the same system as the one on the screwfix website jude_110?

ours is connected to our mobiles - if it goes off - the phone rings to let us know! its a speach dialler that does that part of our alarm, you can buy them for around £100 and add it to most alarms.
in my op, it is worth paying the extra for peice of mind!

I think the BT alarms around that price already have that feature? (I could be wrong! lol)

    excellent guys thanks very much
ill look at the yale on screwfix
    ill check BandQ also
as it seems various ppl saying various options,

thanks once again- if there are any outstanding price drops do post on here as many people are looking for great deals on alarm systmes

The yale is £64.99 reduced from £149.99...

We have an ADT alarm, which you can if your lucky get fitted Freee esp if you go to the home shows and go on the last day

I pay £25pm for a monitored system and it beats having an alarm go off in the street and no-one attending to it, if they are on holiday etc

I think they have it on offer at the moment £299 but I know they tend to negotiate

Yeah they do, though to access the feature you have to pay £5 per month. :x

Funny I was just thinking the same.

If it is totally wireless (Bell Box, Panel, PIR & Door Switches) then you might think that these may need to be changed quite a lot.

Battery life on siren which uses 4 x D batteries is about 2 years (if you use Duracell etc). You hear some extra pips when alarm is disabled or enabled when batteries are running low.

Sensor batteries are over 2 years and still going strong - if you have an alarm with the communicator unit/keypad - the lcd display is supposed to indicate if sensor battery is low.

Internal battery for communicator/keypad is 5 years (it may be 7 can't remember for sure) but has to be replaced by Yale...

I had the Screwfix one delivered last Wednesday... It's Kit 2 and comes supplied with all the batteries

If you provide me with £300 a week i can stay round your house all day every day :-D

i provide a service where we can chat and i can also cook, not many alarm systems do that do they
