    HOME DELIVERY NETWORK

I ordered something from Play.com recently and I haven't received my item. I eventually found out how to track my order through Play, I then found out that my package is in the hands of the Home Delivery Network. Which basically consists of any person who has a phone and a vehicle at their disposal.

Tried to arrange redilvery on HDN's site, but this was useless because I never received a card through the door.

Found a phone number for the cretins through saynoto0870, and they're not answering, all courier companies should be open on a Saturday morning.

This company is based in Liverpool.
Anybody had a similar experience with these subhuman monkeys?

I thought Royal Mail handled play.com deliveries? Has this now changed?

I think it might be because I ordered a larger item than usual, a speaker system

HDN are probably the cheapest delivery company around and it wouldn't be at all surprising if play.com used them for their bigger deliveries.

The problem is that if you want to buy at the lowest prices then you shouldn't be surprised if the company you buy from use the cheapest courier. And cheapest is not usually best. ;-)

Never had a problem with HDNL.

Always had a courier van not a 'person'.

Countless problems they have left loads of parcels in plain view on my door step and not left a note to say they've done so. Amazon too though not just play.

They often deliver stuff in my area, never had a problem with them either. Remember it has been a bank holiday weekend:thumbsup:

Well Play.com were my favourite company until this fiasco. So I should expect a company not to deliver my goods because delivery for everything is 'free' is that what you're saying matey?

It's Saturday morning and they should be answering their phones

HDNL never answer their phones AND they send cards through the post which they put the wrong phone number on!! HDNL were delivering a bed to us, arranged a time, and guess what I went into labour that Friday! Monday morning get a card through the post (just got in from hospital night before) saying to contact them re deliver. Tried number on the card and it was Barclaycard. Spent 3 days trying to sort delivery out, was a joke - they only answer emails apparently. I hope Play.com are different and have proper contact details for them

HDNL guy is really nice. sometimes other randomers drop things off. one guy did and pakage stank of smoke...yuuuuck!

Not exactly. There are many reasons why play.com are cheap, the major one, of course, is that they're not subject to UK trading laws! Of course you'll get what you ordered but only when HDNL get around to delivering it. :whistling:

Sashicee - how did you manage to trace the package? I too am waiting for a delivery from play, a christmas present of course, but can't find anyway to trace it?

Yep they are rubbish and if I see an online retailer using HDN I wont buy from them.

Once previously they put a package in my wheely bin when I wasnt at home but didnt put a card thru the front door so I didnt know it was there, next day I put the wheely bin out to be emptied and the goods obviously ended up crunched to pieces in the back of a bin lorry

I had to wait 2 weeks for a package from them and eventually had to go pick the item up myself!

    did u get replacement

Never had a problem, my local guy is quite good TBH. But in general you would expect a rubbish service as it 'Shop Direct Group' aka Littlewoods. As they are the second biggest personal parcel delivery company after royal mail it is difficult to not shop at retailers that use them.

Courier is based in Liverpool you say?

Say no more, though you could check the car boot sales.

I have a lady deliver my catalogue items with no issues. She always leaves a card if we are out and leaves her contact number - nothing is too much trouble for her!.
