Home Delivery Network Ltd - 'Delivered' but not Delivered?

I ordered a pair of shoes from Office.co.uk on 21st December, contacted them on 31st to see if they could chase the courier as my parcel seemed to be 'stuck' at Irvine depot. They said they would chase it up and get back to me, However, the same afternoon HDNL attempted to deliver my parcel - I was not in due to taking my little boy to the cinemas though upon checking my parcel status - it says Delivered to customer, though I have no item! I have knocked my neighbours to see if it was left with them and all of them claim they do not have it.

Has anyone had this problem - them stating they're delivered something when in fact they haven't? How did you prove you had not received the item. I have emailed Office advising them of the situation, but my worry is because the item says it was delivered to me, I have no way of proving I have not received my item... First time I've ever ordered from them aswell, not having much luck with HDNL at all - won't be ordering from ANY company that uses them as couriers

Personally, I have had no problems with them at all. Now called Yodel. You'll be surprised how many companies use them (Amazon included).

I would imagine they need to prove that you DID receive this i.e a signature

I was pretty surprised with HDNL last week. A delivery we had been waiting on for 3 weeks was stuck in their East Kilbride depot and we didnt have a van big enough to collect (a wardrobe) anyway when it did arrive I was in shower, my hubby out with dog so guy asked my son who is 11 to sign for it.

did he have it built for you getting out the shower?

I have used them alot and occasionally they have left stuff in my wheely bin! One time they left an ASOS parcel in my bin and the dustmen got to it first. However, when I phoned ASOS they said not to worry and they would send out a replacement so I think the onus must be on them to prove they have delivered the parcel. I wouldn't worry - just contact Office

I hope so... Well, I would have though so. I'm going to ask them to do a full investigation and advise who has signed for it - just abit peeved as I've been waiting forever for these 1 pair of shoes, then when they eventually turns up - it's apparently delivered to me (CUSTOMER) but I do not have them - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Must just be the HDNL in my area, soooooo many problems with them. Have had other peoples HiFi's and TV's attempted to be delivered here - thank heavens I have the good heart to tell them they're not my items lol.

lol it was already built! My hubby useless with diy so totally pointless buying flatpack in my house!

Lawl, the courier guy is dead outside your door.

They took an eternity to delivery an item for me before xmas, but i guess with the weather and volume it was understandable. But we ordered something 4 days ago and it was delivered 3 days ago! (i did have to sign his electronic box thingy on receipt)

Office staff should have access to a more detailed tracking system. Might be an idea to check this with them, usually HDNL put additional notes in there if they have delivered to a neighbour or left in a safe location.

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, if they don't have your signature they cannot really prove anything. Office may send out another pair if the shipment is lost and make a claim through HDNL.

checked the bins round the back etc?

ive heard these guys leave stuff anywhere

With HDNL you have to sign their electronic signature gizmo so your fine, you may find that its just the drivers selected the wrong tick box on the device and they'll redeliver it on the next working day, which i'm guessing is the 4th.

Either that or his mrs got a nice pair of shoes for new year

similar experience as you i'm afraid, but i did my uggs when i contacted the sellers and advised that i hadn't received the item, as they sent out a replacement, don't know what happened tp the first pair, but i wouldn't order from any company that i know use them.

Sounds like your average Dog walker :-)

tbh think most of them are as bad as each other, parcel force mysteriously lost a nintendo wii I sent just before christmas a couple of years ago.

Just noticed this thread when googling(how funny that is on HUKD lol) I sent an item 2 weeks ago and it seemed stuck at depot for over a week(same depot, Irvine) but on Thursday it showed as loaded onto van at Irvine, and loaded onto van at Wembley then delivered 2 hours later(yet no name just "customer")

Person has opened PP dispute against me claiming it hasnt arrived.

I am having exactly the same problem at the moment, though they never tried to deliver. I have called the contact number aswell and just got an automated voice saying to enter my 8 digit number from my slip, I have unfortunately received no slip as of yet...

Ordered some items through Amazon on next day delivery (having shelled out for Amazon Prime), only to be sitting 3 days later with no delivery, not even an attempt, and on phoning HDNL, finding out that they have been in the East Kilbride depot since 5am on the 11th (now being 4pm on the 14th, with no guarantee of delivery on the 15th). Never had any issues with Amazon in the past, but very disappointed this time...

Hey did you receive your shoes in the end, as i have ordered a pair of shoes from office and exactly the same thing has happend to me, its saying that its deliverd to customer but they obviously havent cause i've been in all day.?

HDNL is not at all reliable! In fact it's a wonder it's still in service.?Twice a Phillips home theatre system was ordered to my daughters address and twice tracking stated delivered left on front porch which she doesn't have?Unbelievable and complete incompetence of company service that should cease running as other dishonest people and certain drivers are escaping with other honest paying customers items worth hundreds into thousands of pounds.! This must stop!.A very unhappy lady.!

Bought some things of amazon tracked ordered on Saturday till 12o clock surprise no delivery next day checked again parcel was delivered at my address At11 o clock on Saturday I had to check with neighbours but no parcel so I have had to phone amazon after trying to contact hdnl I would like to no where my parcel is especially as it was supposed to be delivered

I ordered a pair of shoes on 14.1.13 and used the tracking system to track where my parcel was. It stated on there that my parcel was delivered and signed for by the customer!

The problem is I've not received the parcel and office are saying that from their records i signed for it!!

Simple; get the retailer / courier to check the signature. If you didn't sign for it then there is either no signature, probably due to a fault in the tracking system and the parcel is still at the depot, or the signature won't be yours so you'll know who should have the parcel, or the signature will be forged, most likely by the driver. They might do this for a couple of reasons:

1) They've left the parcel somewhere secure at the address, although it should have been indicated where.
2) The driver wanted to make it look like the parcel was delivered, perhaps for his quota, but didn't actually have time to deliver it and will do so at the next opportunity. (This was meant to be stopped as it is obviously bad practice).

I Ordered A Laptop from Amazon last friday cost £600 Checked The Tracking and according to that it was delivered to me at 5:30 am on Saturday Morning And That was HDNL.
Ive Contacted Them Online as couldnt get through by phone they said would do an investigation which will take 48 hours.

Tracked my item (from Amazon) and, after waiting in all day, discovered that it was stated that I hadn't been in. There was no non-delivery card in my postbox so no evidence that they had actually been to my address.
The phone number supplied by Amazon is not working!!
