Home Delivery Network / Yodel delivery rant part 283!!!

It seems that HDN/Yodel have managed to muck up yet another delivery from Amazon! T'other half bought something and used my work address for delivery, she has just checked the online delivery status to find it was delivered last Wednesday to a chap called Darren in Goole, Humberside. It was addressed to a Caroline in Cambridge!!! WTF?! Why do they still use them?!?!?

Yeah, in the process of trying to sort something out yet again! Item now out of stock, and was only in stock for a short time when ordered too so doubt they will be available again anytime soon! (Woody Andys Toy Collection edition)

Deliver was attempted in Cambridge according to the delivery status (which is rubbish as someone here from 8am til gone 6pm) then it went to Hatfield, then Leeds, then Humberside!

My order, despatched from their Swansea depot,(less than a mile from my house,) ended up going via Ammanford,Hertfordshire then Almondsbury...back to Hertfordshire...Ammanford and finally Swansea before delivery to my house.I wonder what the cost of all that was

It looks like its on the move again!! Maybe the person who received it realised it wasn't for him.....its now in Edinburgh!!!! You couldn't make this up!

I've just experienced the same problem with Yodel
Apparently they have delivered my parcel from Amazon on the 15th November but i have not received it and Amazon are now out of stock. I wouldn't have minded if it was for a cheap item but it is for a item costing over £100 and is a xmas presant. And its funny because i have received all the cheaper items i have ordered in the last month with out a problem!!!!
Needless to say i am not a happy bunny and i hope they get it sorted before xmas.

use to work for yodel not saying nothing its all about cost cutting

Haha, same for me, they sent it from London to Wembley via Train. Then in Droitwitch to stay over night and then to Cardiff on a morning departure. Express delivery is at least 4 days for Yodel ... Is a HDNL parcel ... cheap company

ReviewCentre has 10 1-star reviews. Google has 11 1-star reviews. Nobody seems to have anything good to say about them... and I'm sat at work waiting for a delivery that's allegedly been out for delivery since 10am this morning and it's now 20 past 6... why Carphone Warehouse uses them as their 'premium' delivery service (with Royal Mail reserved for cheap purchases) I have no idea... well, actually, I do... they're the cheapest option around, but surely the cost of deterring future custom isn't worth it...

I am waiting for a parcel that was collected from seller 26.08 at 0930am. Arrived Manchester 0448am on the 27th.Still not delivered on the 30th and no information from anyone as to when I will get it.
So much for 48 hour delivery.
I wasted a day at home waiting and have made nearly 20 phone calls with no resolution.
    Do they care ?

Same here, apparently my goods were delivered from their delivery point in Goole to my office in Pocklington near York on Thursday morning and signed for by a name I dont recognise. I was there all day and there was NO delivery. I contacted them this morning and they are in the process of contacting the despatch centre to find out who the driver was. Over £250 worth of goods in the parcel. I am not best pleased at all.

Yodel,,what a joke they are useless,,,,waited in all day for my parcel and no show,,when it was meant to be next day from carephonewarehouse.....not pleased

Same trouble with my Yodel delivery (not). It arrived in Hull OK from Northampton - 08:04 16 miles away from my address - passed to another centre in Hull 08:04?? - sent out for delivery 08:06 - returned back to Hull depot 16:41 (no explanation for this at all I had waited in ALL day) - tracking says it was passed (once again) to Hull centre for delivery 16:41??? - no bloody trace of it after that...........I have .waited in all day after paying extra for next day delivery of £300 worth of items. Contacted Carphone Warehouse at 5:30 as I still thought it may just turn up today (I am always willing to give a little) CW office say they can't get in touch with YODEL until tomorrow and will get back to me then - looks like another wait in tomorrow which is a real problem..........depot less than 17miles away and they still can't make a delivery ..........YODEL really do seem to be a joke albeit not a funny one for customers..........will think twice before ordering from Best Buy if this is what happens.
Hope you others got sorted out.

I order online from Very.com, and have experienced nothing but problems with deliveries thanks to Yodel! On at least 3 occasions, they have failed to deliver within their time slot of 7am - 7pm, online tracking states items were delivered at 3pm, signed for at 4pm?? when in actual fact the delivery driver THEN strolls up at 9:30pm, out of work hours! Scruffy and rather unkempt looking, in a battered old escort van, professionalism, NOT!

Very have been notified of this, a complaint has been filed, but YET again, the problem continues.

It's about high time Very and other companies using this Yodel sh*t were ditching and finding a more reliable delivery company, one where their drivers actually know what a comb and a clean change of clothes are for!

This has put me off of shopping online, where places send out items through Yodel.

    Rant over! Lol.

Having experieinced another delivery farse from Yodel,
I most certainly will no longer be using online shopping.
They called at 9.36am to drop off with no knock or door bell ring attempted,
just a card through the door maybe they didn't want to get wet in the rain.
Going away tomorrow. ordered the goods on friday eve thinking they would get here today, called the "Call Centre" to complain "we can deliver tomorrow at the earliest" I said not good enough to say I had no knock, they said their is nothing they could do until the driver comes back this eve. total **** take.

Always get a load of random new people on these types of threads... welcome.

o great just got dispatch confirmed by amazon to find its yodel, never used them before and wish i hadn't googled, will post again when/if it comes, not a cheap package either to go missing, why would amazon send expensive goods with this company, it's is a joke

don't hold much hope as are row of houses have a address that's over the other side of the road and accessed by a different road name, even the best drivers get lost when they have never been here yet, yodel's odds dont look good

Yodel tried to deliver but we were not in, and a signature was required. We rearranged delivery via the reference number on the card, but that new day of delivery they never turned up. Worse, they then never gave any sign of existence. I sent two webmails via their service, without reply. There is no telephone contact provided. Finally I tried a new day of delivery. Now my reference number is no longer recognised. An order of $205 seems to have gone lost.
Beware of Yodel. They should be fined for endemic errors, customer neglect and lost goods.

I ordered from amazon on 4 Nov. and was told to expect delivery 9-14 Nov. After googling yodel and finding this site I was a bit worried since I would not be at home on most of those days. It arrived today, 8 Nov, delivered by a very polite and friendly woman in a private car. Maybe I am just lucky or it depends on the delivery driver and his/her attitude.

i also have had three atemted delivery.s from YODEL and i was in my house every time.
tryed to phone the company for an hour but guess, what, no one answered this company are an off shoot of DHL which are a load of crap anyway. still waiting for my delivery from 02
i thought YODEL is what they do in the alps may be YODEL should ply their trade in the alps far away from me ,

    lol I was being ironic.
I always found HDNL ok considering the cheap price. But since they have become Yodel I dont use them.
To be fair, it can be more to do with the driver in your particular area as with any other courier.
I have moved a few times and the service received changed each time regardless of company
I had one company that the driver used to sneak up to the door and push through a missed delivery card through simply because he didnt have enough room in the vehicle for the parcels! oO
I caught the fecker running up the road once!

I've had the same problem with Yodel - tracking says item left in Porch but we don't have a Porch - this has happened 4 times from Yodel Irvine branch. Goods to the value of approx £900 - wonder who pays for the missing items....Yodel? (all items were sent from Amazon - can't understand why they still use them).

They have had my parcel sitting in Aberdeen since the 16th (now 22nd) and I live in the Shetland Isles...was advised to contact Amazon again and that they had no record of Amazon contacting them previously (which they had)...I was told that Aberdeen was my local depot and that was all there was too it....ARGH!!!

I have been waiting for a delivery from Amazon.com. The driver was within 1 minute of my house last Friday but could not find me. No further attempts until I phoned up. Tonight he seemed to stop at a neighbour to ask directions, came towards the house _____ no never got here, I was 15 secs from him!! This service is so poor I cannot think of words to describe it.

We asked Amazon to change the address of a parcel sent through Yodel. (as there was going to be no one at the house and there is no safe place to leave or a neighbour!) Amazon told us this had been done. Imagine our shock when parcel appeared on the back doorstep of original address, 5 days late (again Amazon told us they couldn't do anything for another week) and had been left out in the open, pouring rain all day.

Seriously, why are Amazon using this company still?

Have just received the 2nd parcel in a week delivered by Yodel which has been completely openend before delivery! Today's was just left outside my front door. It's a wonder that the contents were still there; clearly something not worth stealing...

Yodel are CARP. I bought a new battery for our business van as the old one was no use. It is a critical bit of kit as we use the van every day for our business. the battery should have been here 3 days ago - still nothing. I called their head office with the tracking number - they claimed the number was not theirs !! I told them I had used their website and it worked, they claimed not to have a website !!! then I said the item was at the Hitchen depot - guess what, they claim NOT to have a depot in Hitchen. I couldn't have made this up - they are a joke.

Yodel = the WORST delivery company I have ever experienced!! I have had endless items returned to sender from very due to 'coding'. I had an item delivered with burst packaging and items missing and have now made THREE dates for the item to be collected and returned to amazon and they have just not bothered to turn up to collect!

Unbelievably bad company. Caused me no end of trouble and stress. I don't even have the energy to **** them off any more.

I dont know how a company can work like this one. A parcel was delivered on Sunday, we missed it by 30 mins. used the website to rearrange for Monday. Waited in all day, called them at 6pm and they said it hadn't been put on the van. They said it will be on the van on Tuesday. Again waited in all day, called them again at 2pm was told it hadn't been scanned at the depot since Sunday. A few angry words and the guy said he will put a note on the system to say I am livid and that it has to be here on Wednesday as I am going away on Thursday. I called again at 5pm just to make sure that it was still scheduled for Wednesday. The girl on the phone sounded very bored and said yeah it should go out tomorrow. I said I dont want a should I want a definite yes. She said well it says it is going to and told me to call at 7.30am on Wednesday, I called my dentist to cancel my appointment for Weds so that I would be in for the delivery. My husband called them at 7.30 but no one could tell him if it had been scanned or not. He then called again at 9.10 to be told it hasn't been put on the van again!!! He asked to speak to a manager and was told they will call him back. Two hours later I called again as there was no call back, I said I wanted a call back within gthe hour or I would demand to speak to their managain director. 10 minutes later I had a call back. I was told that the parcel will be delivered tomorrow. I am going away by lunch time. She said she will call the depot and tell them that it needs to be with me by lunch time. I dont hold out much hope though.

I had an attempted delivery note from Yodel once, the thing is I was actually home at the time - I heard something come through the letterbox but figured it was post or junk so left it for a bit as I was writing e-mails. Turns out it was them and they couldn't be bothered to knock on the door and deliver the damn thing!

    YODEL SUCK!

I order a lot of items online - often dozens of items arrive each day from different delivery companies. Most of them do a great job - either leaving them at a neighbours or leaving a calling card so I can collect from the depot on an evening or weekend, but oh no not Yodel! They just have to get rid of that package - whether that means launching it over my 8ft high fence onto a concrete path at the other side, or just leaving it on the doorstep in plain view of passers by, in the hurling rain.

At least 4 times now, we have been in bed dozing, just getting up and we hear the letterbox go. I leg it down the stairs to find the van just driving off and a slip hanging through my letterbox. I managed to collar one of the delivery drivers once and asked him hwy he didn't knock. His answer... "Sorry mate I only have 20 seconds per delivery and I thought you were in bed so didn't want to wake you". Fair enough - I see his troubles but that doesn't help me in any way. I WANT MY FLIPPIN PARCELS AND I WANT THEM NOW!

I made a complaint to Amazon last week and just as I was about to hit "send" I noticed another green card on our mat. It was another calling card. I was sat feet away from the door all morning so this particular driver must have been extra-stealthy. The card said "left behind car". Went outside... no parcel. Great, it was stolen. I went back to my Amazon message and started again, my message being much angrier (probably angrier than it needed to be but it was still raw!) Amazon sent me a new batch of items out (£80 worth no less!) and this Fiday gone I received another card through the letterbox, saying the parcels were at the depot. I rang and the woman at the depot was excessively rude, hanging up on me half way through my question. ARRRGH

YODEL SAY NO MORE STILL WAITING FOR A DELIVERY TRIED TO DELIVER YEST BUT NO ONE IN CARD POSTED THRW THE DOOR FUNNY THAT 1 I WAS IN ALL DAY NO NOCK AND DEFFINANTLY NO CARD WHAT A JOKE :(:( oO

Ordered a phone from expansys on the 30th of December, Missed the delivery on Thursday 5th of Jan, a card was posted trough the door, I called up Yodel to re-arrange delivery. But the system didn't recognise the reference number on my card so i had to contact expansys. I contacted them on Monday and they said they would sort delivery out for Tuesday...... Its now Wednesday and i phoned expansys again and they are sorting it for tomorrow apparently. We will see. If it does not arrive by tomorrow i will be cancelling my order. I don't understand why companies put there faith in such a poor service

Just ordered 10kg of dried cat food, email from YODEL giving me tracking number, very professional I thought. After 2 days I logged on and it it said it was delivered! When I called the half wits at Yodel they said the delivry driver had put it some where safe in MY house, but didn't know where! When I asked how he got in to my house they ddnt know.
Clearly what they are doing is marking items as delivered, just to reach their delivery time quota. What a total bunch of [email protected]@e holes. 4 days later still waiting for a return call from them, none of the staff I have spoken to have English as their primary language which doesn't help.

Know this comment is old but you might want to be aware of Streamline shipping times. I think your parcel had probably left on the 16th? Anyway for future reference here they are. HDNL are good for us because a) they actually deliver to orkney/shetland and b) it doesn't cost an extra 30 quid! streamlineshippinggroup.com/ork…tml
