I recently had a guy knock the door telling me that I could get a grant for insulating my loft and cavity wall. He was saying I could have them done for about £199 each. Now I do not claim benefites of any kind. Does anyone know if this price is just for people on benefits or is it for everyone?

No, anyone can get this done and the best thing is you don't need to do any of the form filling. There are some rules about loft insulation, if you already have some insulation it needs to be less than 150mm to qualify. Just had cavity wall insulation done for £140. It is a Government scheme to make us all more energy efficient, the scheme is due to end very soon as the fund is running out of money. Check out the company doing the work as there are some cowboys out there and badly done cavity wall insulation can create localised damp issues. We had ours done through Tesco's, guy did the survey on 12th Feb and they did the job on 22nd Feb.

yep definately for everyone, had cavity wall at the beginning of the month, all i had to do was give them my electricity acc number as they subsidised it....cost £129

try calling your elec company or check their website

Check out ]here mate - there should be a list of energy suppliers who can offer various deals for all kinds of insulation you're talking about.
