    Honest Advice Please

I started this job about 4/5 months ago. The duties im carrying out are just admin duties but it wasnt described to me in the interview / job description that it would be admin. Even my title isnt an admin title. Additionally its on nights which I didnt want to do initially but was told I had to do it when I started. The job is also located in Nottingham and I travel from Birmingham 5 days a week. Iv seen the managers / project managers about my situation - to be honest they dont care. I have been applying for other roles but nothing yet. so do I leave or carry on doing it until I get something else? Its getting harder just to motivate myself to turn up, I know unemployment is horrible but someone slap me round the head and give me some honest advice please.

Did you, (I might be wrong) have job issues before?? :?

and you didnt think to ask these kinda of questions in job interview?

If you quit you risk having any unemployment benefits stopped as you became voluntarily unemployed.
If I were you I would obtain a copy of the job description and write a letter to the person who is in charge of the people you have already spoken to about it and clearly explain your gripes/concerns. At the very least you will have something in writing. Don't write an angry letter ie don't burn any bridges but be clear that the job you are doing does not match the job which you applied for/were interviewed for/accepted

Time to look for a new job then, unless they can give you some specific dates when it will "get better". Remain pleasant throughout; like I say, don't burn any bridges.
Be honest in any interviews - any decent emplyer should be impressed that you are seeking new employment 'cos you wish to better yourself; also, they will know to be honest and upfront from the off.

Sounds like it was a glossy brochure to me but didn't match the pictures. A common recruitment practice.

yea cheers mate. But its so hard to stay happy, im felling myself going into my own shell. i dont feel like interacting because im always down - i know thats wrong... And iv been for 2 other internal job interviews at other sites and they have been supportive of my situation.. Iv received more support and encouragment from other site/interviews than iv had here!. so yea ill keep trying but its hard. Why do something you don't enjoy when you were younger what did you want to be. What do you want to be now don't just quit cause you don't like it, quit to do what you have allways dreamed of doing so rethink what you want to do and want you feel would make you happy but don't just quit then head to the job center that would be like getting on a train but you don't know were you want to end up

I would never stay in a job that made me unhappy.

    Life is too short.

Hope you get the job you want eventually

    Honest advice:

Sounds like you do a good job. (Even though you obv don't like/enjoy it). Your Mgt team don't seem to care. I'd, stay with it, but really actively look at leaving the company. Hard push your CV out there, and you'd be surprised how many people are looking atm. Don't talk bad about your current job at interview stage, just use it a a positive at how adaptable you are, and I'm sure you'll find something you'll enjoy.

Have you shared this info with your partner/parents etc?
