i have heard that the sony's are not the easiest to use. Garmins are probably the best for ease of use and reliability.

tom tom and we have them in our vans, have dropped it, had the van rammed, driven all over the place as we live and work in the sticks and its never let us down, The Traffic boys have garmin, and they all say its dog poo:santa:

    I'd second it with dog_cop.

My dad has a tomtom and its very easy to use. Dropped a drink on it, and it still worked.

Bitsey, its worth spending a little bit more for the tomtom. i have heard the viamichelin models are OK and so are the Sony's, but the tomtom are market leaders and I find it spot on.
