Hotel in Penrith

I need to book 3 rooms in a hotel, as cheap as possible, hoping you can help. I need....

1 single
1 double
1 family (1 adult, 1 child)

Date: 22nd March 09 - 23rd March 09

Location: CA10 2DW Penrith

Cheapest I can find is travel lodge - £90 total for all 3 bedrooms. Is this the cheapest available, and if it is should I book now or will any £19 rooms become available at a later date???

I used to work in Penrith, travelodge was the cheapest. There is a nice hotel on the way to town when you get off the motorway but it is well expensive. Travelodge is 1 min from the M6 too.

does it have to be Penrith?

How about Keswick, 18 miles west?

If that's the one I'm thinking off it's adjacent to a Little Chef opposite the Penrith Market & close to Rheged on the road to Keswick just as you come off M6 ? . But it's not Penrith as such - you'd still need to drive over the M6 to get into Penrith itself, but because it's not on the main M6 it shouldn't be too noisy.

Also recommend Keswick as it's beautiful & only about another 10/15 mins along the same road, but more it's private hotels & B&Bs etc.

Hope you get sorted though

We have booked to go to Centerparcs monday to friday, but have decided to travel down on sunday since my brother is going with us this time, and it will take him 6 hours to get there. Thats why we want it in Penrith

Also, got the holiday really cheap so dont want to pay too much just for one night since it sorta defeats the object.

It's perfect for centre parcs which is just 2 roundabouts over & a short drive along the A66, That's the Parc my family go to. Make sure you get lots of pampering - I've never had the chance to get to the spar before (always seem to be standing in mud watching the one of the kids ;-)) but always wanted to. Hope you have a lovely holiday

We usually go there and Sherwood, like them both for different reasons. We have been going for over half my life, since I was about 9 (I am 21 now)

My dad spends a lot of time at the spa, I am not really one for pampering though.

We usually go for a week, but got a really good deal for mid-week. Thats why we are travelling down the night before this time though, make the most of the time we have, since it will take my brother and his g/fs daughter 6 hours to get there, so they would lose monday. Its the first time she has come with us, and my brother hasnt been with us for a few years either. She will be nearly 10. Cant wait!

EDIT: £19 ROOM FIND!

To be honest, If you're willing to drive another 15miles (about 20mins) from the TL to Whinfell, AND stay in a Motorway TL, you can book Carlisle (Southwaite) M6 for £19 per room. Im sure it wouldn't cost you £30 to drive 15miles!?

I based this on:
1 room x 2 adults
1 room x 2 adults
1 room x 1 adult x 1 U16

But, if you could sort of double up (TL rooms sleep upto 4 iirc), you can save even more!!

Thanks for that

My brother and his g/fs daughter will have to get there from the train station, so the best one will be the travel lodge at Penrith. But I dont see why we would need to be in the same one really, so we could go to the other one - saving £20

For the sake of £10 it doesnt really make sense to go and pick them up and drive back to the Carlisle one, but still saving £20 if we stay at different ones.

I know you can get more to a room, but its me, my parents, and my brother and g/fs daughter. Need seperate rooms really

Edit: Sorry, need to spread my rep around before giving it to you again, will rep you soon!

whatever suites best. The M6 junction which you will take (to turn right) to Whinfell, is literally, 1m from the other TL!

I take it your picking them up from the TL? Their Lodge (£29pn), is just over 1m from Penrith Train Station

Yea we will pick them up from there on the monday morning

well, that your sorted, all you need to do is book!
