Tm going to the big apple at the end of april as a suprise for my hubbys 30th birthday and have seen a deal to the Pennsylvania hotel right in the centre of Manhatten for £420 per couple for 5 days> just wonder what you thought of the price and has anyone been?
Ive looked on trip advisor and the pics look terrible but im trying to convince myself thats its so central (across from macys and next to empire state building) and thats it only to rest our heads!!!!!
Any comment s would be appreciated and thanks in advance

Have stayed there.

Brilliant location indeed- right opposite Penn Station and the sports arena (forget the name).
Is also next to Macys which is neither here nor there and not far from empire state building.
Its about 5-10mins walk to grand central and times square.
Hotel is average, location is whats charged for. There are a lot of younger people there I noticed

im guessing that is a joke lol :whistling::whistling::whistling:
you think with a bit of begging they would do me a good deal !!!!!!! :w00t::w00t:

yeah, i think you'll get what you pay for, it's an ok price and i'm sure the room will be average. my girlfriend has ruled it out based on what she's seen and read. the couple i can remember which we may go for are milford plaza (i think) and the ramada new yorker. i've stayed at the best westerns before and they are nice. pretty basic but the price is fine and you may not even be in the room that much.

We stayed a block from Times Square a few years back and I agree that location is what you pay for. Can't actually remember the name of the hotel but it was pretty ropey and not cheap compared to Florida, San Fran etc. Anyway, it was, as you say, somewhere to rest the head and we were pretty exhausted every day - so out like lights. Don't forget your ear plugs!! Enjoy your trip.
