my fridge freezer doesnt seem to be getting cold its out of garentee as its 2 years old. just rung them they want me too take out a policy 10 months at 12.99 covers me for the year. first tried to get 15.99 out of me. was wondering what there like for repairs if any one knows, if they cant mend it they then refund policy. cant come out till tuesday, my sons diabetic so all his insulin in fridge will be unusable.. i got a good make as i thought it would be more reliable, so any hints on dealing with them would be apprechated..

Not all types of insulin need to be kept in the fridge constantly.. check with his doctor whether he can still use it xx

It needs re-gassing and the engineer should have tools on board to do it

its ok up till a month out of the fridge, so most of it will have to be chucked as it comes in fours and one of them is only used once aday so one cartarage lasts a month....

Getting it fixed for £12.99 seems a good deal to me what are you waiting for ?

At least he wont be without it though!!

Dont worry the doc can replace the insulin that you cant keep xxx

In fact, take it back to the chemist and tell them you cant store it, they should take it from you or tell you how to dispose of it cos they wouldnt want it just laying around in a refuse sack xxx

Its actually a double oven you have :whistling:

OP,remove any hot foods from within the fridge, curry, chilli etc:thumbsup:

12.99 for 10 months

if it's a Ultima range I would recommend the following, disconnect from the mains and defrost the feezer, leave for 24hrs and then switch it on. The system should reset it's self. We had the sam problem about 2 years ago and this fixed it. A local engineer advised us to do this as all the Hotpoint's are sealed units and if it refilled with gas, it may only last for a few months. I was told the same when I called Hotpoint, they dont tell you to disconnect and leave for 24hrs. What have you got to loose?
