How are your sales on ebay

My sales on ebay have just dried up, i sell many varied items some have only had single viewings on 7 day auctions.

    How are others finding it.

snap!!! I sell on the local facebook pages instead now and get much better results!!!

eBay has gone quiet, Facebook is ok but you get some right donkeys on there!

99p auctions have gone for 99p, 2 of them in the last week and they are £10-£20 items usually. Totally nuts, views are only just say hitting double figures.

Their fees have got out of hand. I use Facebook, Gumtree and Preloved more these days.

I was quite new to ebay a few months ago. Have always sold on FB, sold a few things and the fees I had to pay were ridiculous. Gone back to FB

Facebook I get some stupid offers.

Preloved never had anyone contact me.

Gumtree is normally very good for me.

eBay take the ****, now I do! I either do a buy it now and overprice (sometimes sell) or cash on collection with the sneaky "I would prefer the to come and view the item before buying to ensure they are satisfied". 90% of people are happy to pay cash and then I just end the item on eBay. No cost! **** deserve it though. I wouldn't mind paying a reasonable fee but they take the ****.

Can you tell I'm annoyed with eBay? lol

People always moan about the fees.

However the fees are reasonable for what it is. (Saying that things have gone downhill lately but that is not the point as overall it is a good platform).

Have you tried selling your stuff at auction locally? You will then see that Ebay fees are well within the norm, in fact they are better than Amazon and most offline auction sites and we certainly don't get many people on here slating Amazon.

There is a vast difference in the types you are quoting, local auction places store the items and provide staff to deal with both the sale and the collections.
Ebay is clearly overpriced for the service they provide and nearly double the cost once paypal fees are paid

haha sounds like you was lucky! An extra £10 is good and I'm glad you refunded him, I would have done the same but some wouldn't!

Couldn't agree more. I've had a lot of non payers and even unknowingly bought a copied dvd and the cheeky guy listed the dvd as genuine ebay fees are ridiculous and then you get charged paypal too and people want buy it now at silly prices nowhere near as good as it was

10% flat fee is obscene (plus all the extras e.g. postage, ebay fine for charging postage, paypal etc)
selling the occasional high value item is prohibitively expensive on ebay now. i remember when certain categories or certain prices meant you only paid about 5%.
Once they established the monopoly, they hiked up their prices.

prefer to use it as a buyer these days, sell a few bits but generally try to find other sites/channels

there's a few good free programs in the android play store for selling stuff.
shpock comes to mind , but there are quite a few.

Had some right stinkers i sold a surround sound system for £21 it cost £18 to post i only charged £8 i was eventually out of pocket but it took up too much room and i couldn't throw it out

check out wallapop on android for selling too

A very interesting site, never heard of it before i wonder how well it works, i have put on two items for sale just to test the website, i have seen a blackberry mobile phone for £12 and a samsung s4 for £400, so price diffentials seem very high.

If it works it seems a good site to sell items in your local area, probably not for electronics but more for difficult to transport bulky items, and items that are to cheap for ebay.

Stoppped using it all together, never had a reply from Preloved, Gumtree is OK and sold some stuff but a lot of timewasters.

So yesterday thought FI and did the first Carboot of the 'Summer', apart from the early rise, nice day....cash in hand, less junk in the house, win, win.

Depop app is good for selling clothes & accessories for free. It's like Instagram for sales.

Ebay sales slowed after the password hacking thing broke in the news, ours are coming back up now though...

I put a leather jacket on for £1(excellent condition used twice) - nobody even put a bid in...

Gumtree I don't get any interest - I don't think many people use it.
