How can I check if my PC can flash a Xbox 360?

I need to know if I can flash my Xbox 360 with the PC I have, I know if I don't have the right chipset I have to get a SATA card thing, how do I check if my PC can do it without the card?

May be good, but not for flashing 360 drives,

Needs to be an nVidia or a bog standard Via.

I use my onboard Nvidia one, so never needed a Via card.

In iPrep with 'Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller' selected it says 'MTKFlash and DOSFlash compatible', does that mean anything or do I still need the VIA card? Thanks

nope you need the via card m8, even intel chipset ones show up as compatible but they will not see the drive on bootup of your pc, only nvidia or via ones will
