Resetting WMP actually involves deleting two registry nodes, both of them
named MediaPlayer in two separate places. Why this works is because WMP is
smart enough to recreate what keys it needs when they're all gone. It will
force you through the First Use Experience, asking defaults, etc.

As I said before, it's an extremely last resort measure, but if you feel
it's necessary, the two registry key paths are:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer

Making sure that WMP is not running, nor are any applications or applets
that can use Media Player (some chat clients, some messaging clients, etc).

Deleting the nodes will force Media Player to think "hey, I've just been
installed because I have no registry keys".
