How can they get away with this??

Just got notification through from Ticketmaster of some pre-sales coming up and one of them was for Michael McIntyre. I have seen him before and was interested to see where the tickets were for.... They are for his Arena Tour in September 2012!! How can they be taking money from punters that far ahead? How can they justify it. Its like paying for a pint in the pub and not getting it until you go in next week..

What happened to just buying tickets a few weeks ahead?

I know you have the choice of not going but it doesnt change the fact that this cannot be right.

nice bit of interest in the bank for the promoters eh?

Suppose you will have the option of the best tickets available!! Leaving it nearer the time only leads to either crap tickets or paying over the odds on ebay!

I know some people like myself cause of my job or similar can't even plan that far in advance.

What is frustrating is, they are using your cash to promote the shows so what will they lose if it fails? I remember the Michael Jackson shows that when they were cancelled a lot of people could not get their money back...

The same way you can buy a holiday a year or more in advance but pay up front.

the saying " the early bird catches the worm" springs to mind. By selling them so early on they avoid the huge rush they would usually get if they were on sale later on which means its easier on their system. In addition, you can get the best seats.

As for your remark paying for a pint and drinking it a week later i see your point but last timg you want is to go to the pub only to find out they are out of drinks

Yup i got my refund no problem.

As for the first point I don't see the problem at all, if you really want to go see a show and want really good seats you book early.

There's booking early then there's this.

I was lost until this analogy:

Tell me about it.. I had to pay £11.50 booking fee on my ticket to the Creamfields festival and then £5.50 postage on top. I think the festival capacity is 60,000+ so that's certainly quite a bit of money for them printing off a ticket on some card..
