How do I convert .TS files (Freeview MP2 radio) to MP3?

I’ve changed the TV card that I use to record radio from Freeview and even though I’m still using DVBViewer it now records as .TS rather than .MP2
I have a batch of them to transcode to MP3 and I’m wondering what is an easy way to do it?
I can batch convert MP2 to MP3 easily enough so I am happy just to batch demux (right term!) the TS to MP2 if that’s easier.
I looked at ProjectX but I couldn’t get it to work on my system due to Java issues so rather than spend ages trying to resolve that I’m wondering if there is another way!

Thanks. I should have said that I was looking for freeware as I only have one batch to do. I've changed the setting in DVBViewer so it records to MP2 again.

Thanks. I'm downloading it now and will check it out. Been using DVBViewer for 10 years or so but haven't got into plugins much.

Just read the notes and it is for live recording to other formats and not batch recording which is what I'm after.
I've reset DVBViewer to record to MP2 as I don't have an issue with batch converting those.

I have a 3MB file that I can email you if you want; send me an email address via a PM.

I’m downloading the Java JDK and will trying installing in XPMode and see if I can get ProjectX to work. I used it years ago and found the interface very unintuitive so when I couldn’t get it to work easily I was put off.
My Nokia software has hijacked Java and I’m wary of messing that up as I rely on that for mobile broadband.

Thanks. The funny thing is I already had that installed but was a bit wary as I thought it might have malware. I’m running a batch job now but it’s only using a single core so it’s pretty slow.

God knows what that music was on that clip I emailed you. No wonder the show is called Freak Zone; it was what was on BBC6 at the time.

did your malwarebytes pick it up as some kind of Trojan dropper as well ? Super is normally a safe program. I got it from official link, Avast also complained about the ndis installer

Super is fast enough as I only have one batch to do as I have reset DVBViewer to record as MP2 for radio shows.
Thanks for all your help, much appreciated as it can be a hassle trying to work out what Freeware is kosher.

No problem. It's been a while since I did anything with my ts files from my topfield 5800.I have in the past used projectx, the squared5 above, sq5 is the best one I used when it was in early beta, it seems to have come along nicely and super is/has always been a very good piece of software. Handbrake has never been able to open any of the ts files from my humax machines or topfield ones. I can't remember the last time I actually used my toppy since getting skyhd. I did fancy getting the Humax freesat pvr but the lack of hd channels put me right off.

I bought a Humax 9200T when they first came so that was when I had experience of using ProjectX et al to process the files I transferred to my PC. Terrible transfer software but some bright spark wrote his own that worked better than Humax’s utility.
