via equifax or experian, by who?

if you sign up with some-one like credit expert, experian then everytime someone does a credit check against you, you'll get an alert! and that will tell you who did the credit check

if you buy a mobile phone on contract a credit check will always be done, or from catalogue accounts, etc

go to experian at:
experian.co.uk/wis…er/

and/or

go to equifax at:
equifax.co.uk/Pro…tml

Both sites offer a full paid for service, but I always go for the £2 statutory report which is hidden away right at the bottom of the pages in the footer of the page.
On both sites, you get to download a pdf application form, fill in the form and send off with a £2 cheque.
Both sites should return the same info, but I always do both, just in case there are descrepancies.

This will return details in the post of your credit rating, a list of who has done searches on you, a list of your current and recent credit agreements, eg mortgages, car loans etc. Well worth it especially if you have suspicions or if you are about to take aout a mortgage and want to know what the mortgage company will see!
Also may be worth doing a separate report for yourself and other interested parties in your household, if there are any, or if they are financially connected to you, eg, spouse, partner etc.

An interesting and worthwhile spend of £2 !
