its about 4 mm thick

you could try tighten it in a vice but the chances are when you work it it will crack
no matter what you do

Go to a local industrial estate and get a lorry driver to run it over for you.

What are you trying to do with the flattened tube?

Assuming you don't work for BP and your working on plan Z.

dont mind if it cracks

Do you have an oven? - Aluminium oxide has a melting point of about 2000 °C (3600 °F).

Are you wanting to flatten the full length of it and why???

If its 4mm, why dont you buy some 8mm thick strips instead?

No its just a project of mine

Look round your area for a road being resurfaced, wait for the steam roller to turn up and place your tube in front of said machine... .... sorted!
