Depends on the Harddrive size.

If it is the 120Gb version, then you'll need an external CD Drive and Windows Disc. Format the Harddrive and install Windows. You'll need to be certain that you have all the drivers available for the Netbook too.

You'll need the make of the sound card and graphics card. You should find them on the Linux system, sorry can't help here because I don't have Linux, then Google them. Store the drivers on a USB drive / pen.

Windows should just download the appropriate drivers once its installed.
Make sure they are available from the hp's website before you start though just in case.

I did a search on "HP Mini Note Installing Windows" and found a few sites, like this one

Just googled 'how to install XP on Mini note' and those came top alongside the previous posters link. I would try googling with the specific model number of yours to make sure no special stuff is needed.

so you already have windows xp I suppose...:-D

cheers

It would be handy if you can confirm the exact model number of the HP Mini-Note you have, as there are several guides out there about customising the Windows XP installation to suit your netbook model - in addition to that you may want to check the recovery CDs provided with your netbook, as they may include Windows XP within them & a serial key.

The EASIEST WAY to install windows is buy a U3 memory stick and use that to install Windows.

Anything 1GB will do fine. I've used this to install windows on my Acer one and NC10, it *should* work on the HP.

Heres the U3 info:

wiki.hak5.org/wik…ker

It basically converts your USB memory stick into a USB cd-rom drive. It's easy, painless and anyone can do it.

And a U3 memory stick:
