# How do I measure without a jug or scales lol

Posted 19th Oct 2007
I have some curry sauce which states 3oz then 1 pint of water.

But I have no way of guessing how much it is, can anyone help lol
empty milk carton?
empty bottle?
Use a pint glass...

Use a pint glass...

much more simple than my idea
3oz is about 85 grams and I think there are 15 grams to a tablespoon... So = 5.6 tablespoons...

Isn't a tablespoon 15ml? Not sure if there is a way to measure weight without scales, estimate maybe?
Bathroom scales?

can u steal a babies bottle? use that! mug some random baby whos walking home from the pub.
Well I have a pint glass it was more the sauce I was worried about
How many grams are in the packet of curry sauce? Give it a wee calculate and guess how much you need Don't add loads to start with as you can always add a bit more...

Failing that, stop being tight and call the local Chinese! :giggle:

LMAO, estimate!

Last time my sis estimated, the fairy cakes had too much chocolate sauce on the top and they tasted disgusting, and the dream topping had twice as much milk. We was there whisking and whisking trying to make it go thick, but it wouldent. Lmfao.

How did you know it was Chinese?

Well at £1 for a small tub from a Chinese plus no way to go there, and me sitting here with chicken breast and curry sauce I can make it.

Too late to eat now anyway so will have it for tommorows tea.

Is this a medical complaint which has only come to light since you moved over the border!?!

In reply to your original question, have a look round at any other small prepacked products that display a fluid capacity (shampoo, mouthwash, ketchup toothpaste etc) and guesstimate from there?
Well I made some, had about 1.5 of the paste I used which was about 1/8 of the pace stuck at bottom of bowl which I chucked and at first it came out really watery and I thought I ruined it.

Then boiled it and it went really thick and I put half in a bowl when done and still had enough for 2 portions of chicken curry!

And the stuff left over is thick.

At least I know for the future and mmm it was nice, a bit salty tasting was the curry sauce but almost as good as real take away stuff
