How do I transfer my itunes library?

Hi Guys,

i have a copy of Windows 7 on pre-order, and am planning to do a clean install (even if the upgrade does work).

I am in the process of backing up all my data, but how can I transfer my itunes library to either an external hard drive or DVD-R?

Obviously I don't want to lose the 20gb of music i have bought over the years.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated (and repped of course)

Don't thank me. Say thank you to Google. ;-)

My favourite way of doing this is using my ipod as an external HDD.

Enable disk use on your ipod via itunes and then copy the contents of the "My Music" folder to it.

After the reinstall just copy the contents back and once itunes is reinstalled all you do is add folder contents.

Thanks for the advice guys. Unfortunately Andrew my ipod (nano 5th gen) isn't big enough to hold all the music in library. if i had the classic, it wouldn't have been a problem.

I have repped you also andrew after taking the time to reply. Thanks
