I am thinking of buying Dell Vostro V13 Laptop. But it has Core 2 duo SU 7300 processor.

I don't know how good that is. I normally do multitasking on my laptop.

Would that be powerful enough to do serious multi tasking?

The SU means it's an Ultra Low Voltage processor. i.e. it doesn't use much power so gives long battery life and/or a light machine, The 7300 is a dual-core version. The tradeoff is that it's quite a bit less powerful than a normal Core 2 Duo mobile processor (which is of course less powerful than a Core 2 Duo desktop processor).

As for serious multitasking that depends on just how serious, but I'd guess not.

Thanks for the advice. You said it is a bit less powerful than normal Core2duo processor. It should not be a problem if it is only slightly less powerful than normal c2duo.

I normally open 8 or 10 tabs on IE or Chrome and I play music with Media player, Unzip RAR for movie files, run Outlook, Word, Gtalk, MSN messenger, Skype in the background and switch between the programs quickly.

The above tasks happen at the same time. Will this processor/this machine cope with that?

If the ram is good on it, the system should do fine.

Hi, I got ]HP NC2400 at the moment and it got Intel ULV Core Duo U2500 processor, 2gb Ram (upgraded) but I feel it runs extremely slow.

I am a bit worried that I might make the mistake again buying the core solo or ULV processor laptop.
