how long do krispy kreme stay fresh

if i buy a dozen tonight at 4-5pm ish - will they be ok to give to someone tomorrow afternoon or will they go nasty hard?

awesome thanks. i did google but the americans had some crazy ideas how to keep them fresh - freexzing/damp paper towels etc etc.

Keep for 3 days at room temp. Best eaten the same day though.

Dont bother with fridge. they go dry and stale faster

Isn't the rule of thumb to eat on day of purchase? This could be extended as fresh for a 24 hour period. In otherwords you should be fine. Make sure you keep them in an air tight container just to be safe

Agree with this. Better not chance it.

Staff say upto 3 days, but they aren't as nice after 24hours.

Agreed I had some the following day tasted like average donuts OK but I like to eat my krispy kreme instantly.

Doesnt matter what time you bu them today, they will have been delivered this morning.

Cool, dark place - they'll be fine till tomorrow. :-)

doughnuts are the scum of the cake world

KK Original glazed doughnuts are best to eat right off the belt from the hotlight store when they are still fresh or within the first 3-6 hours, eating them a day after doesn''t give the same feeling as the glaze on the doughnuts starts to melt and go sticky.

I recommend you try the Salted caramel, Chocolate fudge cake, Glazed rasberry, and Butterscotch sundae doughnuts.

anyone tried heating them up again in the microwave? makes them so nice and soft but it melts the glaze.

It's not the moisture being sucked out that hardens starchy products.
It's a process called retrogradation that is accelerated by the colder temperatures.
It's when the starch molecules crystalize, making it go 'stale'
