How long does it take to walk from Gatwick terminal N to Gatwick train station?

Just trying to plan a train after coming back from a flight, and wondering how much time to allow to get to the train station. Rep will be left for help given, thanks.

thanks, will look in to that.

Why not just get the mono rail for free? Train takes you from north to south (where the station is) every 3 mins. Not sure its 24 hours but i used it 6 months ago when i came back from Spain and that was 10 pm. Hope it helps

Yep likewise, easy and free to use

From N you have to get the very frequent shuttle (and takes just a few minutes) and then walk 5 minutes to the trains. I can't remember how long it takes to get to the shuttle from baggage reclaim.

Oh right, I've just checked on-line and it seems that the shuttle is being upgraded.
Terminal transit update

We are installing a new inter-terminal transit system at Gatwick Airport as part of our £1 billion investment programme.

From 28 September 2009 until May 2010, a replacement bus service will operate between Gatwick's North and South Terminals. The service will depart from the upper forecourt of both terminals every three minutes during the day (04.00 to 18.00) and every six minutes at night. Please allow 20 minutes to transfer between terminals during this period. As the transit stations will be closed, access between South Terminal and local buses will be via alternative routes.

The existing transit was opened in 1987 and has now completed more than two and a half million miles - that's the equivalent of five trips to the moon and back!

Yes, that's not far.
BUT that's for from the shuttle; I don't know where the 'connecting bus' would drop you. Perhaps the Gatwick airport site has a map??
