    How many deals.............

do you come across but not post as you know it will just become a magnet for people with stupid comments or cold voters. lol

I was just wondering as although i still post a fair few deals i reckon i only post about 1 in 4 that i find for the above reasons.............the cold voters don't bother me but i can't be bothered posting something which just turns into a handbags at dawn showdown.

I never used to think twice about posting a deal but now i do which is a shame.

i hardly post and the reason is i can never get the search bar to find the same deal posted before and everytime i post someone else finds it somehow lol.

Dont let that stop you posting. I sometimes post an item i am looking to purchase and ask if members can find it cheaper to post the deal. If they can find it cheaper and post it it will save me even more money. If not i have obviously got a bargin.

    Quite a few!

I used to post deals quite regularly but then you get put off by the stupid comments!

Also don't forget the line 'It will probably be cheaper in a month, so voting cold'. (_;)

or the people who think "Oooft thats a wee bit pricey for me, cold as i cant get it" when realistically, its cheaper than everywhere else hence it is a deal ?

Best reply I saw to that was "I'll just nip back in my time machine then..."

I kinda miss the HDDVD player deals - guaranteed to have hours of entertainment of members comparing it to betamax......

They're not scared of new companies - there are lots of scam sites out there so they're just being careful. If the sites check out, have proper contact details, are based in the UK and come at the recommendation of members they do get added. A recent (very popular) example is Bee.com

lol nicked the comment gari posted lulz

but this is a prime example of people voting cold because it was cheaper at one point in time, ridiculous

if its the cheapest at this moment in time its makes it a deal...does it not?

To be fair i put a post up regardless of what others think. But what i do find annoying is when people have voted cold without a comment or reasoning behing it. I think its common courtesy, if voting cold, that you explain your reason for it. I dont vote cold because its not my style, but on the odd occasion where i dont think its a great offer i let the OP know why and where he/she can get a better deal.

each to their own i guess, i just dont like knocking someones confidence, especially when they are new and there are people on here who know how to get the best deals on everything. Before i came here i never knew about The Hut, Zavvi etc, but now i am enlightened i buy sensibly.

But my main problem is with the few that just vote cold for the hell of it and those that vote cold with no reason.... life is learning curve, if we are not told what we are doing wrong how will we learn........ not as dramatic but you get my drift.

Actually posting a link in a duplicate listing to the original deal thread is really helpful as it directs the duplicate poster to the main listings and if MOD spammed it saves time finding the relevant link. Plus it ensures that all the deal information is contained in one thread. When a member takes the time to link and post in a duplicate and to hit the spam button, rather than for example just voting it cold, we really appreciate the extra effort that those members go to when they do this

I go to that effort, but i manage to do it without sarcasm or a harsh tone...........what we are discussing is the manner in which some people do it that is wrong.

Personally i feel that Deals has become very rude and hence the effort i put in is diminishing.......although i still love the site.

LOL...... I hpoe you never post a Skoda deal then Sy! They seem never to leave the front page, despite no one suggesting its a bad deal! If only they reslised ther efforts only ensure it becomes a mega hot deal instead of the reverse.

But there is only one set of people to blame here. Where did Rayman disappear to anyway?

i post deals here and there (As long as they arent awesome deals.... want mine to go through first!) and dont give a monkies what ppl say..... they are gonna be ppl thinking they big shots sitting at home behind a computer screen...so let them have their glory...i done my bit

Speaking as a non poster but grateful reader of posts, I try not to leave negative comments (the occasional attempt at humour maybe) and I only vote hot or cold on stuff I actually know about.

It pi$$es me off when people do stuff like vote the football strips down due to the fact it's not their teams strip and it's very annoying when people get voted cold for just saying "hey there's a sale on at so & so". That's handy to know, I'd much prefer to know Next have a general sale on rather than one specific set of pants is £5. I've got loads of pants already.

Honestly I rare pay attention to whether something's hot or cold as I know how fickle ppl can be and others who follow trends, vote hot if hot etc.

But anyway a lot of you seem fed up with it all so from me: a big thank you!
I've bought about £500's worth of bargains in 3 months off this site.

That is the most annoying thing when people vote cold on freebies, I think the mods need to take the voting off for freebies.

    good post as usual..

I for one now don`t bother posting any deals as the amount of people who complain about deals posted, as you know my deals normally are for some top quality children's toys, but still the get the "oh its so expensive for what it is" well more fool them as the toy in question will be around for many years to come unlike some of the "tat" they obviously buy ...

Untill each posters has to say why they are voting cold I won`t be bothering.. plus some do it I am sure out of spite ..
