    How many degrees are you?

I only count for 2 degrees of heat/cold ... but I know someone who counts for 9 degrees. How much do you count for, and what is the maximum degrees of heat/cold someone can have?

Is that the max? You seem to have the rep and post count to be near the top?

hehe i think i got most of my rep from misc!

    im 9 degrees
i think 9 is the max
    why do u ask?

I can add/subtract 9 degrees. So it obviously isn't based on rep.

Well, from what I can tell then ... it isn't based on rep, and it isn't based on the number of posts (I have more posts than my friend with +/-9). So ... either number of hot deals ... or some kind of calculation on how you vote?

    OBVIOUSLY

    I'm a 1 :-D
Apparently I was naughty so was punished by having my rep taken from me

The voting rep is based on the temperature of deals you have submitted, … The voting rep is based on the temperature of deals you have submitted, the time registered, number of posts, and forum rep. The first is by far the largest and the other factors are there to balance it out and give some voting rep to people who spend their time helping others etc in the forum.

    9 here

I used to be a 12, but the powers that be downgraded everyone way back then. I'm still spiteful about it too.

    I'm a 9! Don't know how I did it tho!!:?

:giggle: Yeah that probably doesn't help!! Post a few good deals and you will get full voting power

    2.5 i think

Hoping somone can help explain this sytem to me...?

I've been a member for a little while, and 99% certain that whenever I voted hot I gave a 9 deg's increase. Now, suddenly, it only goes up by 1... and many times doesn't actually rise at all!! What's happened?? I haven't done anything wrong, as far as I'm aware!

The only thing I can relate it to, is that recently I posted a deal which got voted cold (and the reasons really irked me, but I won't vent here) - does that mean that now my voting powers have been crippled? Because if so, that's just rubbish! I'd rather never bother posting my own deals and just help (or hinder) other peoples if that's the case!

EDIT: sorry, missed the post above with the explantion: "The voting rep is based on the temperature of deals you have submitted, the time registered, number of posts, and forum rep. The first is by far the largest and the other factors are there to balance it out and give some voting rep to people who spend their time helping others etc in the forum."

So... I could affect other peoples deals by 9 degrees until I tried to submit a deal myself, and now because people voted it cold for a stupid reason, I get punished for it? Boo!!!

I do 9 I think thats the max.

Your voting power is mainly decided by the deals you've posted yourself so having one that's been cold will almost definitely be the reason your voting powers have diminished.
