How much can I get for this/best way to sell

    Ok since I upgraded my pc I have a 4 month old(with 3 month usage) PC motherboard matx with 3 x pci slots 1xpcie 1xpciex4,4 ddr2 ram slots, heatsink/fan and 1 gig ddr2 ram.

Now is it easier to sell as it is.

Or to build a new case with built in psu, add in a used 8600gt, a new dvd burner and buy a new hard drive for my current pc(since im wanting to upgrade to vista 64 my current hd has a recovery partition designed for the mobo) and give the license key from my current pc since then all thats different is the case/psu and dvd burner everything else is the same as old pc.

So is it easier to sell the mobo seperate or mobo and hard drive, or go the whole hog and buy a case and dvd burner too(not just price but easiest way to sell it)

i.e if the mobos worth £50 but hard to sell on own and I buy the new hd. case costing me £50 more but get £100 back for it.

If you know what I mean.

Probably best to sell it to someone who can collect it.

No one could give you a price guide. Not enough detail.

Well I said everything but the model and make lol, I did ask a few months ago and someone said at least £50

It has a E6300 in it btw forgot to say

i would sell it as u put above, offer to case it and install hd or let them take the mobo and the cpu seperate ....... its pretty simple to install a mobo in a case and a hd so just list as a mobo and cpu deal

So you have a motherboard, cpu and hard-drive (and a cpu cooler)? And that bundle has a Vista license+DVD or recovery partition? Is that correct? And you also have a 8600GT going spare?

Is it deffo matx? Quite a few slots if so...

Also - do you have the license sticker intact? Would add value - without it you couldn't really 'sell' Vista. Or is it attached to the current case?

Yep def MATX since I bought a atx mobo for my quad core cpu at first and it didnt fit,so bought a matx and it was same size

What motherboard is it? Do you have the proper motherboard box and stuff or would you have to sell it in other packaging...

Things like that make a big difference - it might be better to sell as a complete system if you don't.

Id have to sell it in the replacement mobo box,but that has spare sata power lead, 2xide leads and some spare screws

Cant remember offhand the exact model as im not at home right now but its something like p5lp-le

Yep was right heres a link to image

Also it has a 5.1 sound card on back, i.e green, black, orange jacks and a digital coaxial out and digital coaxial in.

Just realised it hasnt got a pciex4 slot sorry

I might be wrong but it sounds like you changed your orignial choice motherboard for a m-atx model so it would fit in the case? Would it not have made more sense to get a new atx case or am I missing something?

Was the old PC a bought system or home-built? If bought, what brand\model is it?

The old system was a compaq cant remember model but liked the case so didnt want to change it!

Pity - by all means you would probably get the most selling it as a the complete system but nevermind. I think in all honesty you might get the most splitting it, there are some decent parts and its much easier to ship. The CPU is worth quite a bit alone and very easy to sell.

I guess you'll 'lose' the Vista license but at the same time you've sort of paid for it so I'd feel less bad about running a discount Vista ultimate...

Fill in the specs, it'll help:
    Mobo: Asus? P5IP (?)
    CPU: E6300 (+Cooler?)
    RAM: 2 x 512MB DDR2 (?)
HDD: (?) with Vista Rec. Partition + code (no sticker)
GFX: 8600GT (have you already upgraded this?)

Do you already have anything else?

The rams 1x 1 gig since its not the original ram,and the 8600gt is older than the pc

And the mobo is def p5lp-le

    The HDD?

    Original Poster

The hd is the one that came with it,a 250 gig one with recovery partition(and never made restore discs out of it)

And I have the sticker on the side of my case at the moment

Guess it all depends on how much money you want back for the whole lot, and how much time/effort/risk you are willing to put into it...

TBH just going rates fine, if the cpu goes for like £50 on ebay and £25 for mobo id be happy to take £75

The last few used e6300s have been going on ebay from £27 to £36 + del so you would probably have to lower your expectations a bit. I guess you could get near £20+del for the hdd, probably at least £50+del for the motherboard+cpu+ram combo, maybe even a few quid more if all sold together that to the rec. partition. You might get near £100 for the mobo+cpu+ram+hdd+gfx combo I reckon.
