why don't you find the cost of the average fully working second hand model, and then subtract the cost of the GPU replacement. parts and service.

then take that average, if you know its £50 at cheapest, why not get it repaired and sell it working?

no money left to get it repaired as just went out and brought a new one so was just going to flog this one off cheap but possibly keep the hard drive for a caddy

    worth about £50 if u r lucky.

no-one is gonna take your word that its might just be a gpu failure so they are basically taking a risk, even at £50

ok thanks.... i think i might just strip it then and sell all separate cpu hdd ram dvd drive but the case/shell + mainboard + screen as one and battery and ac as another etc prob get more then

Where did you get it from? is it not still under warrenty? i had a laptop from PCWorld that was faulty but out of warrenty. I spoke nicely to the manager and he got them to do a repair out of good will. 3 weeks down the line they couldnt fix it and ended up giving me a like for like replacement.
If you could get an independant report done (most PC repair shops will give you a no obligation quote for repair) id be interested if you were listing on a FS thread in 7 days ;-)

sorry some of these acers come with seperate gpu cards and with you saying it needed the gpu replacing i assumed it to be one, if its not one of them forget it, its a mainboard replacement.
