How much should a house side gate cost to install frame: labour+wood only

Found 7th Dec 2010
I have the:
Hinges
Door from Wickes Picked out
Yale Lock from Wickes Picked out

All they need do is remove the old door and frame and install new frame with their own wood supply and attach my door hinges and lock.

What is a reasonable quote for this?

OMG! At that price just for labour, I'd do it myself! I personally wouldn't pay any more than £80 - £90 these days for someone to do that. There's about 2 hours maximum labour there and to fit a side gate you wouldn't need a joiner, just some good with their hands.

really easy DIY job so should do it yourself really

£150-£200 would be reasonable as 2-3 hours work but need to factor in travelling time and sourcing the frame.

Well I'm looking at getting the side posts myself now so all they need to bring is themselves/tools/masonary+wood screws to hook up to fence post and garage.

If i can arrange for them to come at a specific time I'm happy to smash to pieces my old side gate reducing their travel time and work time even further.

Costs so far:

Framed Ledged and Braced Gate: £55.16
Wickes soft wood posts: £15 max
Yale 89 Deadlocking Nightlatch SC £25
I already have some good hinges to go on the door

As I said above if I take off most of the side gate myself, should reduce the costs a bit?
