How much should I pay for an iPad?

I am thinking of taking the plunge on an iPad

I have been looking around eBay etc. and £320 seems the cheapest i have seen for the 16gb WIFI version (which is the one i want)

I know the new one will come out soon but my birthday is coming up and the mrs is willing to buy me one but id rather find the cheapest one for her to pay.

Anyone know what price i should really aim for?

    Thanks!

With an iPad, this statement is somewhat true.

If you buy an iPad Wi-Fi only model (no 3G) then providing you get a real one, it should be fine once you receive it.

The problem may arise if you buy a 3G model. It's the same with mobile phones in that they can be IMEI blocked and then become almost useless.

It works quite simply like this: Seller sells the iPad/phone to buyer and receives money for it. Seller then puts in an insurance claim on said iPad/phone (which they arranged prior to transaction). The insurance company replaces the 'stolen' item and the carrier blocks the original iPad/phone. Buyer is left £xxx out of pocket and also without a properly working iPad/phone. This can happen many months after the transaction has taken place, so don't think that it's easy to get any comeback.

Therefore, especially with expensive or sought after items (mobiles / ipads / tablets) it's best to buy from someone you know or is reputable.

ive bought heaps of stuff from ebay and never had those problems, especially not warranty in fact with a couple of laptops ive used the ebay sale as the reciept and got the warranty from the date of the sale

brand new items no problem, even used items can be registered if the previous owner hsnt bothered which is usually the case on these items especially if nearly new
