How often should black box data update?

So I got a black box installed on my car on friday. I go onto the dashboard and no data has shown up! Either the box is faulty, or it is yet to update... Just wondering if anyone knows whether this is normal? I would have thought it would update straight away.

Although come to think of it the engineer tried to get a reply from it a second time and it didn't reply to him, so I'm wondering whether it is indeed faulty

" The data from your Model Driver Black Box is collected 24/7, scored and then uploaded to your dashboard on a daily basis. "

Found this. Looks like it is indeed faulty

It updates once every 10 days or so. Don't worry it will update eventually.

The quotes are silly really, because a years no claims will bring your insurance down anyway. I don't think I want a box in my second year, unless it is substantially cheaper. But then again, I'm on a policy where they can increase the price, but I'll see what my average is in a few days

I have one and when I first got it they updated it weekly, now it doesn't get updated at all but I have had it nearly 3 years.

Once they have enough data there's no need to collect it anymore I guess

Yeah, I have thought something similar

our one downloads every 3 to 5 days. Don't worry if the data is a odd at first, our ours gave very strange readings for acceleration and braking for a few months, then seemed to settle down to what I would expect to see.
Personally, I will not renew with the black box as a years NCD makes a normal policy about the same price.

Hopefully that is the case. If not I might go for a box again. The only upside is that it gets tracked everywhere it goes. In place of the black box I could install my own box, as quartix charge a fee for using theirs

Still got nothing to show on the online dashboard...

I had a one for a year, drove like a maniac and it never went up in price. Now on my second year and insured on a modified polo for £860 with 1 no claims.

All the signs suggest it is just a deterrent rather than having proper consequences. If they have me some data to work to maybe i could be a better driver. They dont see behind the scenes though, how much time i spend on my car, etc, so even box data wouldn't paint a proper picture. Ah well, 11 months go
