Your concern should also be for the unladen weight, and the weight of all that you want it to carry. It has a maximum road weight of 4600kg, with a likely hood of already weighing 3109kg.
If the passengers are mixed adults, then you should allow 70kg per adult. 17*70 = 1190. Plus the 3109 = 4299kg. If you have some heavy guys, or expect to carry some kit, then you will breach the 4600kg, and are in breach of law. If it is a solely male crowd, then weight to be significantly higher.
Also, is the driver going to receive a benefit, of any kind, for driving? Buying their soft drinks and meal would not count. If they do, then they will need a PCV licence, which won't be much good really because that bus is not plated for commercial usage.

Assuming it's a standard Ford Transit Minibus L4H3 then the dimensions are on Ford's website here:
ford.co.uk/con…pdf

2.474m wide with mirrors, 2.126m wide ignoring mirrors
2.674m tall unladen and 2.502m tall at maximum load.

That's the current model, it may have changed slightly since the 2015 model (tweaked bumper designs and so on), assuming that's the year from the 65 plate.

Kerb weight is 3.2 tons, gross weight 4.6 tons but the gap is only 100kg larger so your point still stands.
