How to avoid being scammed emailing a xbox code sold on ebay?

How can I make sure buyer doesn't use code and then say it never worked?

Realistically you can't be sure, sometimes I have listed on eBay and said "strictly collection only, only purchase the item if you are able to collect" but still email the code over to them.

    you cant

I check the code before sending and also of purchase history of accoubt usrd to check though with digital codes it is the people not the process that is flawed

This. It WILL bite you in the backside.

You can't. I sold loads of the Now TV 3-6 months entertainment passes on there and each time I filmed myself scratching off the silver part for the code on my phone. The buyers who gave me feedback I've deleted their recorded video. I've sold over 20 pass codes and haven't had any problem thus far.

Never personally had any problems buying or selling codes on EBay.
I always do a bit of research first on who i am buying or selling to.

I've never had a claim against me so I wouldn't know.

    I would doubt it.

All it would prove is that the seller who took the video had the code in hand, what could be disputed by the buyer is who used the code, which no photo or video taken by the seller would prove.

Honestly, don't buy from eBay and buy from G2A or CD keys. I haven't had a problem with both and are cheap enough

    he is selling.

You can contact Xbox and ask them if the code is valid and if not which day it was redeemed on and if you haven't used the code and or either you had the code lying around for a week and it just happens to be redeemed after a buyer got it then it's obvs it's them Iv had past experience and when I showed proof to the buyers claiming Xbox codes didn't work when they just redeemed it they didn't message back

Just got scammed myself for a FIFA 17 key and as much as the evidence I left made sense and was a rational solution, PayPal didn't bat an eyelid. I've recently sold a couple other keys within the last week, so I think I will quickly head down to the Post Office and pop the cards off and add the tracking information as a deterrent as I am now quite dubious.

Did you still have to pay Paypal and eBay fees?

Well I haven't automatically received a refund, it looks like im going to have to raise an issue in the resolution centre. However it's unbelievable if I lose out because although I've been scammed, in the eyes of eBay I'm the one in the wrong! Such a twisted system.

I have sold mobile top up vouchers and Itunes vouchers on Ebay. Only got scammed once The buyer claimed their account was hacked....I don't think there is much you can do. I have never been scammed on here if the buyer has good feedback.

So I gave eBay a ring and they were happy to issue the fee refund, and PayPal essentially reversed the transaction so in terms of fees I'm sitting at zero now. Still rather upset and a bit shocked that this is such a blatant scam and eBay/PayPal support it! What happened to using common sense?

The shocking thing is, this buyer had over 500 positive feedback!
