* Proof of ID
* Details of your company and your position within that company
* A signed letter from a company director / proprietor authorising you to apply for a membership on behalf of your company

As an employee, your manager writing a letter to say you work for the company should be enough to get your own card

'Company' can be a bit hazy as I ended up with one because when my parents built their own house that somehow qualified them and they got me a card.

I've got one for work & to be honest, I dont find makro that cheaper, buy the time vat is added.

I have a Makro and a Costco card. I wouldn't recommend Makro, it's pants by comparison the prices are quite often dearer than supermarkets.

prices are dearer for some things but when buying catering packs of meats or chicken to split and put in the freezer, you can't beat it!
I pay £20 and normally get around 20-24 huge chicken breasts, the loin of sirloin or fillet steak when cut works out cheaper than supermarkets and if you go for the scottish or english beef, it's lovely!

I buy the special offers (toilet rolls and kitchen towels), and also go for the huge box of washing powders that save in the long run....

I made my own letter head up and a few 'invoices' and hey presto...

have you got a friend who has their own business, perhaps they could get one for you to use, I have one through my ex who does have his own business and agree its not that cheap at all, I only use it for bottled water in the summer and the occasional big box of wash powder for other people but even the supermarkets do them cheaper now. yr not missing anything

Other than some food it's a bit poo.

Never been to Costco but i'm told it's better.

Got one local. Pointless.

Hardly go there now as thefood prices are high. Can be good for one off bargains though, ie ryobi saw for 18 quid elsewhere its c.80 quid.

I agree with other folks, prices can be a bit high but good for bulk buys and offers on the Macro mail eg cheap water, toilet and kitchen roll, washing powder and special purchase electronics and White goods. Generally alcohol prices are not as good as the deals in supermarkets, but bulk packs of sweets, meat etc is cheaper. I agree tha Costco is better though, especially if you share the £30 membership cost with a friend.

If you work for business called, for instance 'Davism,' which recommends hot deals in the UK on internet forums, then you should qualify. Print off a letterhead and 'go into business'. Your position is director and you are self-employed. Sign a letter yourself giving you authorisation to get a card on behalf of Davism. Take it to your local Makro store as proof, and take some ID, like a driving licence. You may not earn any money or work any hours but it does not mean you are not 'in business.'

I wouldn't bother, you're not missing anything. I have a Makro and a Costco card and I only use the Costco one when they bring in their Ugg boots.

So you pay £30 quid a year to buy ugg boots at a £30 discount? Doesn't really stack up does it

Well love there's 3 girls in this house and we all wear Costco's Ugg boots because they are fantastic quality and I have small feet so I fit into the kiddie boots so I save alot of money. I paid around £20 for each pair and they are real sheepskin, if I bought real Uggs they would cost me nearer £200 so like I said go play with the buses ya head nipper

That's different. They're not uggs like you claimed above. They are cheap knock-offs

There's no charge for a Makro card

I've had a MAKRO card for 20 years and have had some excellent deals from them especially in footware and clothes .I must admit I have noticed there prices have risen over the years especially on there beer but who hasn't increased prices . I'm never going to pay for a card to shop at a cash 'n' carry , so that's COSTCO out .
If you know someone who has a MAKRO card , they can get you a card as an aditional buyer .
