How to get a credit card/ for partner

    Hi!

After I moved from Australia , I tried to get a credit card from my bank(Lloyds). But it was not possible, after 6 month they offered me a prepaid card.

My questions is, after how many years can I get a real card, and how easy is it to get a partner-card for a wife/husband when they aren't working.?

I felt very uncomfortable during the whole interview process.

    Thanks for any help!

try capital one they seems to give cards to anyone - and then ask for a card for your husband - they will give him a card but it will be on your account and you will be liable for the debt

How long have you been in the uk, have you any credit agreements? TSB use an internal credit check instead of Experian or Equifax, if you have an existing credit agreement without any late or missed payments you should qualifdy for a credit card quite easily,If not Capital One would be a good place to start but be aware the interest is something like 29.% apr so you should it carefully and pay off in full every month for 6-12 months this will boost your credit rating.
