How to sell games at Cex

Hi, i have a few games i'd like to sell. Other than ebay where i see my games are selling for 99p. I went to the cex website and it says they'll give me a exchange for one of £16, and the other game, they'll give me £5.

I've no idea how cex words. Do i need i.d, how does it all work please. The games i have are my word coach and sports island on the wii, and maybe some other games if i find some i don't want anymore

you need two forms of id ie driving licence passport and banks statement they then input your details and give you a card you can use for future transactions so no need to keep tasking in id unlike other stores

Go into CEX with a form of ID, ask to become a member (they will give you a membership card) then trade in your games, exchange acts like store credit, they will scan the barcodes of the games you want to trade in, then if you wish to sell them to CEX will print out a store credit receipt for those games. You can then use this receipt for part/full purchase of anything inside the store....if you buy anything under the value of your store credit, they will simply issue new vouchers with any store credit remaining.

Personally I would print out the exchange values online that you have already looked at and go into Gamestation instead, they beat CEX trade in values by £1, so you effectively with each item can get more credit if you are prepared to show proof of CEX trade in prices.

You can sell to them online.

If you want an exchange, the store is fine, but they hate to give out cash.

Wish I had a cex near me, they seem to give pretty generous trade in prices.

Ok thanks. I have no i.d like driving licence so my brother will do it for me (haven't asked him yet) :-p

Gamestation sounds good

Gamestaion will give me £1 extra, and give me store credit receipt too, or just cash?

x

i have a wii game Top Spin 3, which has never been played as i already have the game. When i tried to trade it in at game station, they offered me somthing like £3 or £4, which ithought was rubbish so i left it.

However CEX have got an exchange price of £12 online. Does this mean that if i print it off and take it to gamestation, they will actually pay me £13?

Only for trade in will they price beat (not cash) so yes just on store credit, some stores will try and palm you off by stating they will beat the total by £1, strictly speaking they should be obliged to beat EACH of your items by £1. You also do not need any form of ID for trading in games into Gamestation either, just proof of trade in prices elsewhere to price beat (signs up everywhere in Gamestation about their price beats, look for it instore)

Yes in theory, although I think there are terms and conditions that apply to their price beating on trade ins as far as stores within a certain radius go, if you don't have a CEX nearby I don't think it would work for you. If you have a CEX store in the same town as your Gamestation then they should honour the price beat, if not then ring their customer services line, complain, then go back and they will.

They'll only do it if it's not going to ruin their prices, say cex are offering £13 for an item that gamestation sell for £12.99, gamestation won't match the trade in.

What id do i need

i signed up with no i.d

Hii see if I was to go into CeX game store and ask to sell my games and headset and harddrive would they give me the cash for it? Coz I don't want to buy any other games or anything lol I just want the cash! Lmao

tbh cex instore will always give you the same trade in as it shows online

what you can do tho if want is print off the trade in value online go into GAME give them the printout and they will match CEX for trade in

or just post them to their freepost address

There are two types of membership you can get at cex, Exchange membership (voucher only) Or Full membership (Cash in hand and Credit vouchers for trade ins and selling), it really depends on what you want out of what you make from either trading in for in store credit, or if you prefer cash for other stuff??..
