Sit down, and make yourself lift your left leg up from the ground for 5s every 30. Old lawyer trick, never fails.

Good for when driving on the motorway too
Caffeine
Exercise
Try imagining a very large TV falling off a wall.
Get some fresh air a quick walk will wake you up..
Wash your face with cold water then go for a walk outside.
Go shave your arms
Drink water or chew gum.

Cold water on the back of the neck works too.
caffeine for sure. i find that if i have coffee or tea after 6 pm, i have had it and can't fall asleep. this is unlikely to happen to you but if you drink enough coffee, you will be wide a wake.

being scared out of your wits will also keep you awake!

i limit the amount of caffeine i have a day so i am more prone to the effect of caffeine. if you drink a lot of coffee or tea then your body will be used to the chemical and so you would need to drink more to stay awake.
I only have a mug of warm milk with two heaped teaspoons of kenco a day (half a teaspoon of sugar)
