HP Geforce GT 120 Graphics Card Question

Just bought a HP Pavilion Slimline for £80 (AMD Phenom Triple Core, 4GB, Blu-Ray Drive) which I consider a great bargain!

Inside is a Geforce GT 120 and I was wondering if I could use this card in another normal sized PC?

If the motherboard on the other computer has a PCI-E x16 slot you should be ok. (I think)

size will be okay, its just that it will be slimmer inside and shorter in length afaik.

You might need to remove the low profile bracket and add a full size bracket to fit the card but it will work fine in another pc.

This is what I was thinking
What will this involve? i'm not at home atm so I can't do it right now but i'd like to know in advance!

Mkins99 is right, chances are it will have a low profile bracket also. Roughly half the length of standard cards. This won't stop you from using it though, you could just bend the L shaped end straight and fit it in and you should be good to go. You could also remove the low profile bracket completely and it should still work fine.

I doubt you will find a replacement full length one that fits without specifically going out and purchasing one, but then again, you never know. Easier just to bend it and wedge it in haha

To swap from a low profile bracket to a full size one you just have to unscrew it (with some pliers) and rescrew on the full size bracket (which you will probably have to buy) it's only a piece of metal though and as said you could do a DIY job

I am not sure but those brackets are sometimes kind of mad.. like this:

So yeah, do your research if you intend to buy one, hate for you to get something that doesn't fit. The VGA cable seems to attach on its own ide like cable. Madasafish.

What's the best price for that?

I used to have a GeForce 8800gt which used to play whatever I wanted, only needed to upgrade my processor for some game so why would there be a need for a more powerful gpu?

    Thanks for the help btw.
