My HP EliteBook 2540p - Core i7 2.13 GHz laptop has only 3gb of memory and I was thinking of adding more. Sometimes my son plays Minecraft & complains it's a bit jumpy, I know it's old but I was thinking maybe adding more memory could help. The laptop already has an SSD drive and boots up quickly etc. I have also upgraded to windows 10. Has anyone any advice on what memory to buy and from where, its been a long time since I last bought memory and haven't a clue now. :-)

Thanks
Andrew

Amazon Link for RAM
you can go to crucial website and use the system scanner tool to find the right model of ram.

Run the crucial scanner software.

Thanks for the advice, that is the correct laptop. I'd love to buy the 2x8gb but think my wife would kill me just before Christmas so not sure what to order. Would 8GB be OK?

My son wants his own laptop for Christmas so also have that to think (Might just get him an xbox one)

Thanks again
Andrew

OK so the Crucial site says DDR3L max 8GB, and they're out of stock :-)
